This is a scam, right?

A friend passed this on to me this morning and I thought i'd share it to see what you thought.

I got this email this morning with a pdf attachment, containing a claim that a man named Greg Rozsa set himself a challenge to earn $3000 in 30 days on ebay, in the month of May 2006, ie last month.

    The document starts:
He goes on to explain how he set up a new ebay account to start from scratch, and built up 80 feedback scores in 5 days by buying 1 and 2 cent ebooks and other items to get his reputation started. then he started selling websites.

    he goes on to explain:

Inevitably, the first one fails and he learns from this experience and goes on to make over 4 grand in the next 20 days.

The purpose of this pdf that is being distributed, and his blog www.3kIn30.com/notes is that he seems to be offering some kind of limited one-on-one teaching to the uninitiated (and i'm sure that if you miss the limited placing he'll sell you a transcript or something ;) ) so that everyone can benefit from his experience.

Now, I see a number of things wrong with this:

When you look at his completed listings for this month (name virtualroi) there are a couple of sales for $1300+ but most either go unsold or sell for a few bucks. Also, when you look at his feedback, most of it is private so you can't confirm his claims anyway, and more than half the people on his feedback list are no longer registered ebay users. Bit weird? That and the fact that when you look at completed website listings you see loads of them passed in for a few bucks and hardly ANY of them selling for decent money. Those that do sell seem to be more of the well established business type, not the new adsense purpose built type. And also the fact that he purchased web hosting for this, around 15 days ago, yet now he has a website selling hosting plans (virtualroi.com)?

    Sounds scammy to me?

It's difficult to comment, but anything that looks too good to be true usually always is.

Want to find out how to be a powerseller on ebay?
    Just email the powersellers!
A few of them will tell you what to do, etc.
Some will even help you out!
    FOR FREE!

But yeah, selling websites on ebay is a crapshoot (like selling them here).
You either get good bidding and make a lot on the website, or you end up giving it away. (trick to giving away websites.....and making money!....just be ready to fork over mucho bucks to me and I will tell you)

Same with cd's full of ebooks, etc.
I can give them away on ebay for 99 cents and make 9 bucks on each one!

This is no long term business strategy, and there's no reason you should be paying for it. He's offering a short term businessplan, which is morally ambiguous at best and not exactly ingenius.
