I have been providing hosting from last 4 years in name aksinfo
But due to the irresponsibility of the datacenter all the data was lost, it had 2 hard drives and both were completely empty, and generally I have my terms and conditions of service.

I compensated most of them either by additional web space or some sort of extra free hosting period.

But is it really my fault here that the datacenter guys have done it.
Also 2nd thing is server was managed by my other colleague not me, he has a separate company for hosting. Due to the high server and maintainence cost i shared server with him.

Now am I responsible 100% for this, is it not the responsibility of the client also to consider having back up of their own website if its important to them.

Also my charges are resonable compared to any other hosts as i provide small packages to medium and small sized customers who seek to initiate their business.

Other then that one guy who i provided hosting has made big comments on me stating that i have done the damage, even after peacefuly telling him about the situation and telling him that the real culprit is not me, still he has posted on several websites negetive opinions on my company.

    Comment on:
    1. Am i 100% responsible, even clients should be held responsible
    2. Or blame should be on datacenter
    3. The person who managed the server
    4. Can i take any action againist the person posting negetive comments on my company, morover he has done on wordpress blogs, kindly provide me assistance with this.

I think both. Cliants should always have there own back-ups, but just to make them happy so you don't lose as many, you should include some compensation like a month of free hosting.

Any webmasters who don't make there own back-ups shouldn't even be in da business!!!

    1. No, you're not 100# responsible.
    2. Both.
    3. Them too.
    4. Probably not. Best case deal - nicely explain to them what happened. If they have interest in writing the truth on their blog/web site they can feel free to do so. I'd suggest writitng your own account about it somewhere out there in blog land.

    Good luck

I have done it in a good manner ive emailed him details of the complete issue, infact I have never publicly discussed about this, but this guy is not willing to remove the crap he has written for my company which is not true at all. Kindly give some thoughts on this
Can I legally do anything about it? those results come on 1st page when my company name is searched

Yes prudent way is to take frequent backups of your sites, so client is lil responsibile for it as well.

You are not %100 responsible in any respect.
