third party cheque clearance in india

    Hi
    i have a third party cheque in GBP,UK currency.i am tavelling to INDIA and i have a NRE account with State bank of hyderabad.so can i deposit that in SBH,INDIA for clearance?

    it is third party cheque on my name.can someone suggest me the best way to get it cleared in INDIA.becz of unforseen circumstances i am coming back to india and i dont have bank account in UK.so kindly someone let me know how can i get that cheque cleared in INDIA.

    If the cheque is on your name and you also have a bank account then it will get cleared I think.
    Just it will take time to clear.

    Yes you can deposit the check .SBI will charge INR250 for currency conversion.
