Hi all, I've been thinking a lot about networking and getting out there to share ideas and better acquaint myself with other bloggers. Specifically those who follow closely the blogging realm, search engines, blog marketing, and blogging in general. My final conclusion is that I'm interested in getting a small blogger community up and running where we can share ideas and post links to our posts with the idea of networking and sharing some link love. I can easily set up a forum for us on my www.blogaught.com domain, or someone else can host it if need be. Either way I'd love to be involved in making it happen. I'm thinking of making this an "invite only" situation and open it up to DP members and friends of the forum members. Anyone interested? -Eric
I might be interested. I have been a part of a private forum before and the information flow was outstanding. You could ask questions that you may not ask in a public forum.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I checked out the forum in your link and it looks GREAT! In fact, it's right along the lines of what I had in mind, only closed to the public. If we get some more interest, perhaps we can get the ball rolling fairly soon.
The only thing that stunk about the private forum was the way it ended. Activity was awesome, there were 25 members who all brought a different background and set of experiences to the table. There wasn't one "owner" of the forum; instead it was just a group of people sharing their knowledge and advice because they knew they would get the same in return. Then the person who was hosting the forum and another member got into a pretty heavy argument and the next day the site was down and all of that great info was gone. That was very disappointing.
I think it's going to be a forum about blogging (probably more advanced topics than beginner). That was at least what I assumed.
Not sure I understand what you mean.... Well, I could host it at BlogAught.com and make you an admin. I can assure you that site isn't going anywhere. Any other suggestions?
Exactly. Plus, it can give us a change to share a lot of link love. I.E. you have a big post that you're working to promote and need a few others to blog about it. In return, you do the same for other bloggers when the time comes. Just thinking here...
OK, so I have two PM's a few of my personal friends, and those here who have shown interest. The next step is to decide where to host it. I just remembered that I have a hosting account laying around that is being used for nothing. We can think up a domain, launch it with a multi author, revenue sharing blog as the homepage, and then put the forum on a sub-domain and make it private, or we can just have a forum on my www.blogaught.com domain. What does everyone think? Would everyone be interested to take this a step further and have the option to post on a multi author, revenue sharing "blogging tips" blog? Or should we just have a simple forum hosted somewhere? Ideas?
Sounds good zman, I'm interested too. I don't know, I like both options, so I can't be very helpful there.
Liking both options is good. The blog would be an extra bonus, and by choice only. I just figured that if I were to buy a domain name and use my extra hosting account that I might as well go all in and build an actual site out of this. It's a thought anyway...
I would be interested also. Count me in. The multi author, revenue sharing "blogging tips" blog sounds great to me!
You know it! I might be relatively new to monetized blogs of my own, but I've got a bit of writing and marketing experience under my belt.
I didn't think I did, and I'm glad. I just thought I'd throw out my credentials in light of my random questions recently; I figured I'd enlighten anyone who thought I was some goober fresh off the street. Rebecca
Interesting thread and concept I must say! Something like this could be very cool if there was a certain criteria to be a part of the group. These private type forums only work if they can sustain themselves with a solid collection of equally dedicated and knowledgeable individuals. Sort of like a blog related and potentially more mastermind group. I'd definitely be interested in this, Rob
