Thinking of dropping the landlines....

I'm thinking of dropping the landlines and going completely cellular. I would have to add another line to my cellphone account for my business calls. (I don't want my personal cell phone number in all of my advertising).

Since my internet is with my phone company, I would have to drop down to naked DSL through them. OR, I could drop the phone company all together and get my internet from my cable company.

What do you think I should do??

If you don't need one then by all means drop it

I would if I could. The only company I hate more than the Phone Company is my car dealer LOL. Our phone is out about two to three times a month and I can only get dial-up.

I have several SkypeIn numbers for business, and a cell phone where the calls are forwarded to.

I've seen Skype but I didn't try. Maybe later I use that one.

I called the cable company and the phone company to get prices.

The 5Mbps cable connection is the same price as the 1.5-3Mbps connection through the phone company! Faster internet for the same price!?

So if that is the way I am going to go, I'll have to change my email address (not looking forward to that job!) and I'll have to add another line to my cell phone account and probably add more minutes. Then I'll have to change my business number on all of my advertising.... It's a lot of work, but saving money in the long run is a good thing, right?

There are now far better options than a landline. If it means saving a few bucks then its best to just drop it.

how about trying an internet phone. They are cheaper. Yes they are not as convenient as land line but they come with lot of features.
