As with anything - download a business plan template and work through it. What will you bring to the forum that people can't get elsewhere? Who are your competitors - what are they doing well? and badly? and how many of them are there? What are your strengths and weaknesses? How will you justify the time spent on the forum (income? fame?) At a glance the blog seems to be like many others out there - your forum will help establish your point of difference, that special something that makes you better than the rest.
Forums provide user generated content so it can be a great addition to a site but they require a lot of maintenance.
