I currently have a directory, and I was thinking about starting a bid directory.

I have a domain name vanilladirectory.com which has no PR as I just got it, and another site that is 4 letters .com LLLL.com it is pronouncable (But not a word) and has a PR4 and has been registered since last october?

Which ones would you guys use to start a bid directory?

    Thanks
    -Kevin

use either. The PR4 will help you to begin, but no inner pages will have PR so it won't help much.

    Get something thats brandable

Im sick of seeing bidthis.com and biddingilike.com etc

Get something that people will remember, thats how i chose zorg-links.com

If you need advice chosing the domain, go to www.directorykit.com and look at the 2nd post. lots of advice there.

but some people may consider this QBC especially if the domain is not even directory related

    I wouldn't go with the llll.com.
Try the other one or look for another new brandable domain.

yeah but 60% of bid directories are QBC. The owner just puts the script up as it looks a lot easier to make a QB from it.

If i used a PR4 domain to start a new bid site, you wouldnt think i was QBC as you know i promote a lot. So PR4 domain doesnt mean QBC is the owner works hard.

Don't think, just start. Start and fail, then think ;)

    Hello...

4 letter domains can be worth a few bucks ;)

Myself if i where in your situation i would make...

vanilladirectory and Food and Drink (Niche directory)

I would use the other as the bid directory and start
as You have or will be issuing notice that the domain was
dropped and that you are/will be promoting to keep it..
(Reason i say this is its only a PR4 and not a 5-6 and deceptive);)

In the end its your choice and wish ya good luck

    thx

I would go with vanilladirectory.com. Then create a great custom template, and market like mad. Good luck.
