10 year cookie + IP tracking both help if you refer a visitor and they come back later
either direct to merchant or through a search engine or host review or whatever.
Now if in the meantime they click another affiliate link, you won't get credit because
in most programs that last affiliate gets the sale.

Thats only fair. If someone clicked Johns link a year ago and never bought.
Then today they click your link and buy, John should not get credit - you are the one that closed the sale!

Now we all know most cookies aren't going to last 10 years.
That's just the max the software allows and is much better than 1 days cookies
like Amazon or 90 day cookies like most of the hosting programs on CJ.

    Hi Michael,

Thanks so much for coming over to introduce yourself.
It's always nice for affiliates to get to know who's managing the program.

FYI guys - Michael is a great affiliate manager that "gets it!" He's here to help so let him know what you need and he'll take care of you.

Its to bad the lowest package they have is 6 months...Seems any hosting affiliate I use, the companies that do monthly billing always do 100% better. For me anyways. But I personally wouldn't signup for 6 months of web hosting from a company I have never tried. 2 cents.

I take it someone has to order a hosting package over $100 before you can earn the $100? That is a lot of money paid out...

Their lowest package right now is 107.70 for 6 months. They even pay out $100 on that. ALL plans payout 100. They know that most of their clients are happy and many stay much longer so it's worth it for them to pay you to acquire new customers.

    micksss: Go GREEN! :D

chibiz5: Payments are made monthly via PayPal

Thanks to all that have joined so far.
It's a great program and we are happy to have you onboard!

    Hi everyone,

br0k3n: We offer a 28 day money back guarantee; that certainly helps with conversions :)

micksss: we're psyched to have you on board!

chibiz5: commissions are processed during the first week of each month. Commissions this month were paid via PayPal on the 9th (new years got in the way), but they'll be made by the 7th in the future. So if you refer someone on the 1st of the month, payment will be made during the first week of the following month.

MartialArtist: We're finding the pricing structure to be working well, but we do keep an eye on it.

domainloco, me4you, fmsc: Welcome! If you need anything; just shoot me a note from your affiliate interface. domainloco - is the site still loading slow for you? Seems fine at my end, but if you're still noticing this, I'll investigate further.

For those of you who have been promoting hosting for a while, you’d know it’s all well and good for a web host to offer high commissions; but the critical element is how well does the hosting affiliate program convert (and of course, the host actually paying).

EPC is a very important figure to hosting affiliates - it signifies earnings per hundred clicks.

ThinkHost’s EPC rate for January 2007 (to the 13th) so far is a whopping $90! That's a "clean" figure - no fudging. Compare that to the recent performance of other web hosts on *any* of the major affiliate networks - you’ll find that this is one of the highest EPC rates around! Last month we were achieving $300 EPC - the reason for the change is the way that some newer affiliates have been promoting us; more traffic, but less targeted - but I've been working with some of them in order to help improve their results. Traffic is nice, but targeted traffic is even better :).

So, $300 EPC is certainly achievable as has already been demonstrated :). We watch our traffic closely and make tweaks daily in order to improve conversions - btw, we're always open to feedback about our site; partner feedback is invaluable!

Wow that beats HostGator's famous affiliate program...It looks like a nice deal, but it's companies like you that unevens the playing field :p

Probably the biggest hosting company out there (rivals with Yahoo!, but Yahoo! hosting is a different customer base too), I'm surprised you don't know them :p
