I've got to say, I'm kind of disappointed in this section of the forum. There really isn't a whole lot of information about Bing here. Personally, I think that Bing is a very important traffic source, especially if your site is blacklisted or sandboxed by Google. Also remember, Bing is going to show on Yahoo! search results in the future. So here's some notes I've been taking for the last half hour or so. I will try and update this over the next few days IF I happen to find any more information or perhaps a real good case study. Keep in mind that I wrote these very quickly, and they are by no means complete. I'm just trying to stem some DECENT threads on Bing rather than the same 5 or so questions being asked repetitively. Well I haven't really found anything major that isn't already listed above. But, I will say this: Bing scares the **** out of me. Go to Alexa, and compare Yahoo, Google, and Bing on the same chart. Bing might as well have no traffic at all right now, but look at Yahoo compared with Google. It's about at the halfway mark. If Yahoo sides with Bing, that's the amount of people that are going to be looking at Bing results. Now go and do a Yahoo search. You'll notice that there are a lot of real advanced features that Google doesn't have. Well, guess what: they aren't going to disappear once Bing results take over. Yahoo also has the upper hand because they have their own Internet Provider. They've partnered with SBC, which is owned by AT&T. This allows them to provide their own DSL High Speed ISP, which is incredibly popular here in New England. The official name for it is "SBC Yahoo! DSL" if anyone is interested in learning more. What I'm predicting is that we're going to see the AOL effect all over again, except this time it's going to be with Yahoo. When you put in the Yahoo DSL install disk, Yahoo installs its own browser to the users computer. It's marketed as a "safe alternative" to Microsoft's Internet Explorer, which means competition for FireFox. And on top of that, it has it's own search bar. And no, it's not for Google...
My website seems to be better optimised for bing because i noticed i am on the first page for many important keywords in my niche despite google which positioned my website on the 4th-6th pages for some keywords. Anyways my bing traffic is 7% only and google traffic about 70%.
I dont think MS will be able to provide the same level of free services though it's worth the small effort to add some Bing optimization.
Great info Kaos! Bing is actually sending me good amounts of traffic, not sure if the CTR is better with Bing in light of their preference for relevancy.
Alexa is dead. Amazon is shutting it down. Don't quote Alexa about anything. Google for that. No. Yahoo is about 20% compared to Google's 65% last I checked. Not quite. Some of those same people use both services so the combined 20% of Yahoo with the 10% of Bing will not equal 30% of search. It will be something less. Yahoo does NOT offer DSL service. ATT does with Yahoo's services attached. You do not need Yahoo stuff to run DSL from ATT and you can get online without the disk (I'm a former ATT DSL user). Yahoo doesn't have its own browser. In any case, as I said, it's ATT's disk, not Yahoo's.
Bing still brings very little traffic to do optimizing just for him. But in the future who knows, so it's good to have all this info. Thanks!
I don't think bing can give us traffic so utilize your time and be focus on Google. Anyways great tip i really appreciate your effort.

The disc is not mandatory, but most people will use it because they think it is. Also, if I called technical support and had an issue with my connection, the first solution the guy on the phone gave was to re-install the software on the CD. The CD will also be automatically installed if you pay the guy to come to your house and hook up the service for you.
Like I said, that is, or was when I last used ATT, Internet Explorer with a SBC/Yahoo skin and a toolbar but it's IE and not some other browser. Yes and what a pain. The first task of mine would be to uninstall everything afterwards. It was one of the things on my list of "Why I hate ATT DSL". Virtually everything on that disk is worthless or, at least, nothing I used or would use. It's in their agreement with Yahoo that they have to do that but, if you persist, they'll walk you through the steps without that crap.
I've been using Microsoft Adcenter for the better part of a year, and have had sites listed on Bing since it launched and the clicks which originate from the Bing homepage convert MUCH better than Adwords clicks. Bing might not look pretty, but it's fertile territory for Internet Marketers. Highly recommended.
