    Hey.

    I wrote a post about 10 things that i do after fresh WP blog install.

    I use WordPress more than one year so my advices could be very useful for new users but also to advanced one.

    Here is my list, 10 things I do after fresh WordPress install

    I am very interesting what things you do when you installed new WordPress ?

    I mean the most important things ?

    Useful post. Thanks for sharing.

    I was using these plugins so far.

    I wonder what is useful in "Feedburner Feed Replacement Plugin"? Can you describe it? Does it only give statistics?

    Great list. I should have come up with a list of 10 things NOT to do. I've only installed wordpress once (in October for the site in my sig), and learned all your steps and more the hard way. Hehe, oh well, live and learn. ;)

    Depending on type of blog, you number 1 is good, but delete all the date info and just go for custom : /%postname%/

    Eliminate the tecnorati auto ping and add an entire list of blog sites to ping to.

    Find good plugins that actually help you run your blog, like counterize.

    Don't spam blog with comments, instead write unique content and people will link to you - people will follow the links, and you then have a readership. That readership talks to other people and before you know it you have a growing readership and plenty of people linking to you without even asking you for a link.
