Just thought of this. Some service providers have the habit of baiting members with thread titles that combine their biggest package (say, 1000 directory submissions) and the price of their smallest package (say, $10). I think this practice is deceptive, to say the least. Service providers who use this tactic will, more often than not, turn off potential customers.

I don't think so. It's the correct way to market your products or services. If you ever look at the titles of e-mail spam, you'll notice that most of their titles are miss leading and thats to draw your attention to them. If the person clicks on the link, then that's one more person who might see your sales pitch and decide to buy. It's all in the way you word the title. ;)

IMHO, there is a proper way to do it, and an improper way to do it. It would be better for the title to read like this:

Manual submission packages up to 1000 directories for as low as $10

    instead of this:

1000 Manual SEO Directory Submission Services |=| 10$ ONLY

and then discover in the thread that the 1000 directory package costs $100, while the $10 package submits your website to only 100 directories.

Yeah, I'm familiar with spam and the outrageous titles that go along with them just to get recipients to open their mail, but wouldn't it be better if the vendors here practice some good old-fashioned truth in advertising? :(

Ya I guess the first title sounds a lot better than the second one, but it's really up to the buyer. I think on DP many buyers will check out a few services to see which one is better, regardless of what the title says. :)

Are you one of those people? ;) I noticed the manual directory submission service in your signature. :D

Im talking about someone who keeps talking about his service in his posts and is talking about him freelancing in a freelance website and its pathetic.

And i dont think theres anything wrong about keeping my services in my signature as long as i dont talk mumbo jumbo about my services on the thread.
Im not canvassing orders in this thread.. ~_~
PS : I was talking about SEOLinker all his posts have an essence about talking about his services - no offense
    (and also)
If required i will remove the link from my signature if the majority of people feel its right in doing so

Inderectly marketing services ... my dear, is about you and your signature. What you'll say next ? That I am jealous that you made $7 or $14 yesterday ? LOL I will say whatever I believe is correct. And will market direct or inderect as long as moderator think it's all ok.

There is no reason to worry for you cause we target different people (as you said you know whom clients will choose, so I don't see the reason for being sad). I said that above.

    Sir,

I think that you kept talking about your services in most of your posts in this thread and i found that kind of similar to saying stuff like "I do this I do that blah blah and others are no good"

You are indirectly saying that your methods are the best and that other alternatives dont work.

    No offense intended

EDIT : Im not worried if you tell me that i made 7$ or 14$ or whatever because i make more than the amount of money i need and im quite happy providing services which my clients are happy about, its my style and i dont think that anyone could go against that
