    Kindly follow the below tips to rank your website.

    on-page:

    1. Pick up the right keyword ( long tail keyword - related to your product )
    2. Insert your primary keyword in Meta tags, H1 tags and in content.
    3. Make sure your primary keyword should meet its density correctly.
    4. Meta tags - Title, description and keyword must be unique.
    5. Content - Write a quality content along with your keywords and explain about the product more briefly.
    6. Image should contain Alt tag.
    7. Proper Navigation and contact information is very much preferred.
    8. Keep internal links

    Off-page:

    1. Post your WebPages in article and guest post websites.
    2. Classifieds helps to reach your local audience quickly.
    3. Create profile for your product.
    4. Share it in social media sites.
    5. Create boards in document , image and file sharing sites.
    6. Participate in discussion threads.
    7. Blog Commenting
    8. News letter and Press release.
    Note : Make sure the sites you choose for your promotion should be a well developed and authority websites which helps you to rank quickly.

    You can follow onpage seo steps suggested by Aceriker, but for link building, 2-3 weeks is not enough time. First you should concentrate on writing high quality contents that search engine loves. Then after a month or so, you may start link building & that too slow at start.

    I completely agree with @aceriker points and would like to add something. Focus on long tail keywords instead of short tail keywords (profitable keywords) which will help you to climb towards the top position in Google SERP.
