This is sort of review request although I won't post the url since it is not my site and I don't wont to criticize it openly. Sorry, I just need your opinion. I had a submission to my directory - real estate site, looks very clean and neat, although has some irrelevant ads/banners and one-time pop-up on the home page. I assume they just went live since they bought their domain in April 05 and none of their pages are indexed. I kinda felt strange when saw all those articles on very targeted keyphrases (high paid keyphrases in the industry) and couldn't get it - how come they just went live and have all these articles already available.. well, I checked copyscape and all of their publications are republished from somewhere - even articles from 2003/4. Basically, the site doesn't have any original content - all articles contain links to third party sources, they run adsense and other ads. I don't feel like accepting the site (I know I don't have to) because they are trying to make some easy money on other's people work and don't contribute anything themselves... may be I'm wrong, let me know what you think - I kinda want to think "out of the box" and give everyone fair chance to be in my directory. After all, I don't want to heart anyone's feelings because I think this way - I'm trying to put my visitors on first place.
Its not really about my site, its about my visitors. The question is very easy to answer, but I also want to see what the crowd thinks. We have many people building sites here and most of us making living from it. We have different sites, different approach and I wanted to see what the difference is based on (may be its just my ignorance..) I republished some articles on my other sites because I thought they would be helpful to my visitors and I left the reference to the original author on his request, at the same time I didn't make it my main content. ..I think I aready desided not to go with it, but I thought I would give it a chance someone to tell me I'm wrong.
If they have collected the artciles and bundled them in one spot but with credit where credit is due, it could be seen as added value. If the market is segregated now he might be offering a great service. It'd be nice though if they at least had SOME content themselves.
Yes, they mention the source where the articles and even pictures were taken from - mostly press releases and news publications. Looks like press releases for different businesses and links to them.. [..deleted.. I don't want to trouble anyone]
