The "stimulus" package that recently passed congress is a mystery to most of the US. Against their openness promise (48 hours to actually read the bill) they voted to pass something that nobody, except maybe a lobbyist or two, had any ability to read and understand. IMO, this is generational theft. We have put many generations yet to come into debt to stave of a recession that isn't, at this point, any worse than the 1981 recession all due to fear mongering began by Bush and extended by this current administration. Is anybody but me tired of hearing the false assertion that this is "the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression"? Seriously, unemployment went down further and much more quickly during the 70s and 80s recessions. Can anybody even remember past yesterday anymore?
About half the bill was ear-marked money as well. Most of it going towards a UK based health system where as you get older, the government decides if your surgery is cost effective, and if not, oh well. Based on your life expectancy. No more getting something removed because it hurts, unless the government decides its cost effective. I can't remember where I saw it, but I saw an interview with a Democratic senator that said they placed it in the Stimulus because they knew people wanted money, and they knew they couldn't get the health care system passed "because of senate decoram" Can't remember exactly where. But, this is what happens when people are like sheep and follow the heard without thinking. Now, they have forfeited our free country to socialism. Obama lied his ass off during the campaign and people bought it. What change has there been? Other than we are heading towards the United Socialist States of America. We are seeing the real Obama and he will probably not be elected to a 2nd term, hopefully at least. As people start to realize whats going on. He was put there by the media. Not only that, 4 of his cabinet nominees withdrew their nomination because of tax evasion, and the freaking Secretary of the Treasury is a tax evador that "forgot" to pay his taxes. How do you forget?
It's more like fascism than socialism. Using a central banking system that is partially socialized they control the actions of private corporations. Strict government control over private corporate concerns is one of the main defining themes of fascism. The entire western world appears to be going in this direction with bank after bank owned by the Brits and "controlling interest" taken by the US. There is a reason he keeps saying a recession less deep than 1981's recession is "worst since the Great Depression". It's because only through fear can he take the control necessary to attempt to build the "new green economy".
It really is sad that our nation is moving towards both socialism and facism, when in reality these policies have only proven to fail over the past 100 years, no matter what example you look at. Fiscal conservativism has almost diminished and those of us who still believe in it really need to fight for it before it is too late.
I'm working with someone now to create a States rights movement, registering a PAC very soon in all 50 states. This on top of the sovereign resolutions already introduced to many states. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of dumb people in this country -*cough* 2008 election *cough* - but a lot of people are beginning to wise up. There'll be a 3 hour special Monday night on Coast to Coast AM with several guests and state congressmen over this issue.
As Ron Paul stated yet again, unfortunately all you will see is teh same old thing. Charge????? hehehehe. Lets now see if the corrupt 2 party system can fool the american people yet again in 2012. How many times will we get fooled. Ron Paul's stock is allready starting to rise.
That isn't happening here in CO. The Legislature, the Executive, and the Judicial are all owned by Democrats, and we know that in the current political landscape party wins over state or country in every case.
What is your source that CO is moving towards this? I work with one of the State Reps offices and have no knowledge of this.
This is very common. Most times laws are passed without anyone actually reading what they say. It happens in every country on the world.
The difference here. A Speaker and Democrat Congress that promised before they voted there would be a 48 hour period for people to read and understand the law. This is the second time they broke election promises immediately after making them. Last time it was the "pay as you go" promise they simply rejected with the first vote they ever made after taking control of Congress. Another difference: The largest spending bill in world history.
And actually emperor, most senators actually sit down and take a look at it, or at least have their staffers sift through it. It wasn't even a chance this could happen with such a quick vote. There are too many sheep in this country and not enough people that think for themselves. This is what happens when you have a media that puts someone in the white house and candidates that are paid for decades in advance.
Join the group. That link is my only source - maybe these "analysts" are wrong. Why don't you introduce this idea to your Representative?
The bill wasn't even finished There was over 1400 pages and it wasn't straight reading. But referenced to other sections or programs.
This stimulus plan was absurd, they need to find an actual way to help small businesses rather than blow all this money
