I belive that links from directories help for SEO. I don't belive that in a directories with 3000 links, someone will click my link.

you're lucky if you get traffic from these directories, but most of the time visitors to directories have the same purposed like you did, submitting their website info and they will go away. I have clients who have directories, I have to admit the revenue for their PPC ads are really bad...visitors just come and go. But the backlinks can really help you in SEO.

I think that when Bigdaddy has been updated backlinks from directories worth very very little.

Every backlink has some weight, but today backlinks from topic related sites are the most valuable and backlinks from directories are devalued,
but they got some weight :).

some give a small flow of traffic
    some share pagerank
some will soon share traffic when they get bigger
some will soon share pagerank when they get bigger
some just die or turn into "spam link lists"

    yes they will help you
and yes the submissions services do help (have purchased a few)
read some reviews first becuase each have different lists they submit to
but if your site sucks its still not going to get you approved into the directories

It depends on which 100 directories you're submitting to. Some of the older, more established directories can give your site a nice quick PR boost. 100 PR 0 directories may not affect your SE rankings until they get their next PR update, so that's more of a long-term benefit.

Also, I think people overlook how much it helps to be able to choose the anchor text in your directory listings. G may not care that much, but Y and MSN still love backlinks.

It's not that hard to get a high ranking for your secondary keywords only with directory submissions. I have a couple of test sites in low-competition niches that are doing OK without any real promotion. One of them is PR 2 now, I think.

It depends what type of submitting tool you have, as I have an adblaster and it is totally fake! I regret buying the stupid thing, it was purchased through clickbank.

There are some that will work, but these adblasters that claim to give you 5000+ hits will not work...

If they do, they have not worked for me

FFA are considered as near spam sites these days...no SEO consultant would ever recommend that..maybe if its 2004 i would likely do FFA promotion.
