WARNING: STUPID NEWBIE QUESTION How can link dropping on that thread help my site's PR? The main page of the thread is PR5 but posting on the last page is PR0. So what kind of link juice do I get from a link in the last page of that thread?
It wont really, apart from being popular threads, being crawled by Google regularly, but the point is - it's promoting people to spam in these threads with the only intention being .... well spammy.
You guys are being retarted with the PR threads I seriously thought it was sarcasm and self humor now Im not really sure of this thread.
I agree ^^ , it's something you'd see on an underground or blackhat forum, not on the actual forum itself .... I dunno but that's just my opinion ....
looks like some of the threads from OP are already closed. some threads go all the way back to 2004 and has as much as 50 pages. i don't really see much value in posting in those threads because the PR only is on the main thread and sometimes follow to 2-3 more pages but not all the way to the end. so even if those threads has PR, there will be no PR benefit passed to anyone who will be posting on those threads now. another important thing to remember, it is against DP rule to post on aged threads which are no longer active. so digging out 4 year old thread with PR and posting on them will not give us PR, it will give us infractions. if it is an aged thread and still active, yes we can post. but there is no sure chance that the page where our post will be on those threads will have any PR some day.
Great observation but perhaps instead of suggesting for folks to spam those threads it would have been much more constructive to offer suggestions on how to create interesting and informative threads that will one day also earn a decent PR. I don't doubt there are thousands of old threads on DP with nice rank. Raising ancient threads from the dead simply to get in on some teeny amount of PR juice does very little to help your own SEO efforts or the quality of this forum. If there's anyone thinking of seeking out similar threads to spam, please don't waste everyone's time.
I just give you info that these DP thread having those PRs , never encourage you to reply in the threads..lol and you should know that PRs is on their First page and you cant reply to that page so why people spam in the thread? because last pages dont have any PRs ,they should use their sense that they will not get anything from reply in those high PR thread lol! i never thought that members will start replying in those threads to get Backlinks from high PR ..lol
The back pages can potentially reach PR in the next update, so all these people want to hope on the bad wagon of fame and glory. The trouble is, the worth of any one forum link is highly questionable, other then the potential HUMAN traffic that come from it. yeah, yeah, you got a PR3 or PR4 or PR9 link... from a site with thousands of links, and dozens of links per page. Some high value there. It would be potentially better from a single post with in content links that actually ADDS VALUE to the thread as a whole. Look at the over all pages at this point and then look at the google ads. Google stopped caring pages and page ago... ya know, when the topic degraded enough to be little more then a series of one-liners.
I can't see nothing important about a few threads having pagerank of up to 5. The homepage have a good pagerank, it normally filters into some of the posts. The only reason it most probably has not filtered into most of them via the Google PageRank toolbar is because most of the threads are either new or to deep into the site when the PR toolbar updates. I guess them threads were old enough, had a few good backlinks and also were in the right places of the forums at the right time.
