we all want to defeat them you do not have the dibs on that.
the question is how. we have tried your way for how long now?!
the only successfully times have been when we negotiated with these people.
crippling of alqada in iraq we negotiated with the "tribes"
    lets see
    axes of evil
a-bombed and a mess although we now know that diplomacy had worked in remove of wmd
    b-on hold
c-negotiated and in process of being resolved
    more examples
    israel-jordan
    israel-egypt
    libya
    its all about politics
    i rest my case

Very good, so when are you joining the military and start fighting? May be you just mean that some other people will fight the enemy when our friends from this forum will keep hiding under their bed. :D

If you are as wealthy, worldly and accomplished as you say you are, they will approach you for sure. In fact, I'm sure the invitation is in the mail.

If I become a reptile, will I have to buy new clothes?

What do these reptiles who are taking over the world look like?

How can we tell a reptile when we meet one?

    Is there a secret handshake?

My point was that it was juvenile - a coherent and positive conversation can't take place when people reduce their language to insults and bigotry.

You can count the attacks on American soil throughout history on one hand - I don't think that terrorists have ever been the clear and present danger that they are painted to be. Seriously, has anyone ever considered simply paying less attention to them? If every time they blow up a building the American government rushes to invade another Middle Eastern country, thus portraying themselves exactly as the terrorists present, why would they stop?

I have to say again: stop catching feelings over these conversations. I don't mean any offense, this is simply a friendly debate. Personal attacks are pointless and always take the debate down a notch. Just some friendly advice :)

I find your posts funny actually, they come across as they were authored by a loving kitten, who is gentle to everyone, even terrorists:)

I'm not a kitten but I do try to be gentle with everyone. We all suffer from the same problems and we've seen that these random wars are solving nothing. It's not about the silly cliche; peace is really the only option if we want to move forward.

    I never mentioned reptiles.

I'm curious to know about this man you quoted, the 2nd Reich Field Marshall. Is he a hero of yours?

Peace doesn't really move us forward, when it's a unilateral peace.

A unilateral peace allows our enemies to move forward as we do nothing.

A unilateral peace condemns our allies to fight, and often lose, alone. It grants cheap and easy victories to our enemies -- each of which rewards our enemies with access to a new generation of recruits, arms, equipment, money, and natural resources.

There is a much better word which describes unilateral peace -- and that word is surrender.

Will, are you saying that you think America will stop developing, growing economically, defensively and in 200 years, perhaps even offworld, and that the Middle East, home to many Muslims will be able to outlast their oil reserves and compete on a superior playing field?

I'm still wondering about this guy you like, this Marshall from the 2nd Reich who shipped Armenians out on trains for extermination. Is he one of your heroes?

I'm also curious about your take on self-preservation at all costs. Would that include mass murder for your survival?

Considering that guerrilla mentioned wealthy, worldly and accomplished as pre-requisite to join, I can safely say that you don't need to worry about it. :D

Yes, the Germans that were left after we killed off the Nazi's.

The Muslims will also be able to live in peace, like the post-WWII Germans, once we kill off the militant Islamists.

You're right, it's really the same thing. :)

Surely you realize that we have a history of not responding to terrorist activity. Before 911 we did nothing about attacks on our soil, not to mention the many attacks against us abroad that we did not respond to. You're method's been tried since the 70's and it hasn't worked. god forbid we try to do something to these privately and state funded terrorist groups that bring death to those that don't think like them.

Worse, we should all know this because of our first experience with these dirtbags.

They were hijacking ships for centuries before they started hijacking aircraft -- and the Europeans were paying them hefty ransoms for every ship they hijacked.

Between 1530 and 1780 one and a half million Europeans and Americans were enslaved by these folks.

This was all ended when U.S. President Thomas Jefferson sent the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. to negotiate with the terrorists the American way.

No more payments, just more Marines.

We, and the Europeans, experienced over a hundred years without major attacks from these goons.

But then the Euros grew soft and we grew soft and so now the attacks are back.

George Bush is trying to be a Thomas Jefferson for our time, but petty partisan politics is destroying our ability to respond -- as a nation -- to our enemies.

If you have a few minutes, take a quick read through Jefferson Versus the Muslim Pirates.
