Hello all, I recently received an infraction for duplicate thread. However the sale had ended and the domain marked as sold. Unfortunately I couldn't able to sell the domain therefore after the first (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2086588) thread closed down I started a new one. There were bids on my new thread and this thread with bids closed as duplicate and the useless "marked as sold" one is left. I really couldn't understand what the mods/admins are trying to do. I couldn't reach the bidders because I was not following their names. I am not sure about starting a new thread because most probably it will be seen as duplicate too. I tried to find a way to appeal against that delete thread action but I couldn't find any. I strongly suggest DP administration to give users a way to appeal such decisions. No one is perfect and every decision worth a second thought. Thank you all, especially admins for reading.
I really do not care about the infraction points. However I have lost a nearly ended sale with bids on it which already surpassed the minimums. I don't know the name of the potential buyers etc. and I lost valuable days (23 days in auction) for the sale of this domain.
In fact I have experienced the same situation here . As we all know mods can see the deleted posts and threads , So if its possible one of mods can give him the user names of high bidders
Alternatively there can be a way to start over "the sale has ended" or "mark as sold" status into active, so I won't need to create the same thread again. Or else I couldn't figure out how can I sell my website without creating a duplicate thread. Lastly if one of the threads is closed should the second thread still be count as duplicate?
I did not closed the thread it was automatically closed down due to expiry ( after 14 days) and there were no offers! If there is no offers how can you mark something as sold? Or let's say somebody made an offer (not relevant to my case) and afterwards the buyer decided not to continue purchasing. I think moderators should carefully consider every single case one by one. In my case for example there is a fault of the moderator by not paying any attention to details. I am still waiting for help to resolve my issue.
At this time in my estimation, it is foolish to put an end date on a auctions since you may not relist.
Welcome to the fun side of DP . Where profits are being lost due to a complete lack of logic . From a DP's mods perspective . I don't think your generic moderator would think of the current situation as normal . The relist game is often not a game , most people consider they should start fresh when launching a new product package . Then why does this "shoot yourself in the foot" option even exist ? Excuse me for the harsh words but it would appear that it is there just to screw with us . It's more of "Haha in your face now you can't make money" trap then being of any help . @Shawn Until that magical relist option will see daylight how about disabling the ye old market suicide option . I don't think that a closing data helps anyone at the moment seller or buyer and judging by the number of complains I'm not the only one that thinks that .
