I would suggest trying a few more times then, if nothing else to find out your weight... I'm sure with all of your pages and your high rank it would be very high indeed. :)

    You could try this one:

    http://linkexchange.piksites.com

I just launched it. It's a bit like linkmarket.net but it is much more automated. It also has a point system which could help your site appear higher in the rankings to get more backlinks.

Before people continue posting here, look at the date of the thread...

One trick i use is to use a backlink tool on your competitors sites - find where their back links come from and trade links with them - then get more to beat them!

Some people do that - what can I say. Someone just gave me red rep just for telling you why someone might have given you red rep.

Having thousands of backlinks doesnt mean you submit to thousands of sites. You can have a good site that gives a link to you and you should already gained part of its link (eg. 300).

I know that this is an old thread, but I did not really see anyone answering the post in a very useful way.

Honestly, to build backlinks to your website, you need to offer something of real value for people to link to you.

Some people offer tools, resources or information that others might like to link to. For example, digitalpoint.com has lots of people linking to their forums. :) The fact that lots of people use this forum, creates an ability for other people to find value on the digitalpoint.com website. And when people find something of real value, they are inclined to link to it.

The websites that can boast thousands of backlinks often have valuable information, tools, or resources onsite. These types of items have a viral ability of their own.

Beyond providing linkable resources, the method that generally provides the best backlinking capability is Free Reprint Articles. If you can write an article that provides uniquely interesting information, then you put that article into the wild using article directories and article distribution services. After a good distribution, you can find one article on dozens, hundreds or thousands of websites, with each copy feeding a link back to your own website.

I have seen articles that only put five links back to a website, and I have seen articles that put 5,000 links back to a website. It depends on the article. "Uniquely interesting and valuable information" is the key to 5,000 links from one article.

When done right, a good quality article can get your link into websites that have a lot of value in the internet community.

Whether we are talking about reprint articles or resources on your website, the same concepts apply:

    • Both offer value to readers,
    • Both offer value to the linking websites,
    • Both resources have been put into place by the webmaster, who is receiving the backlinks.

I would suggest that you spend less time doing exchanges with quality sites instead of spending a lot of time doing lot's of exchanges with none relevant sites.

I usually do 1-2 exchanges a week! but with very good sites!! I Get better results!

I don't put much store by link exchanges - in some respects I doubt the honesty of the exchanger - and in many sites I could not find a link to their resources from their home page.

At one time I litererally had thousands supposedly linking to me, but a search engine confirmation was leass tha 100.

I have made it very clear on my site, that if you request a link back, then they must have already put a link to my site. Because I preach that, I put a link to other people sites, and the request a reciprocal link.

I also keep all details of my exchanges in an MS database, and it generates the html
