Dunno if they are eliminating PR but the old hash code doesn't work for getting page ranks any more. They changed the code once before. Maybe they are changing it again.
PR doesn't pay my rent Visitors coming to my site, and clicking ads actually pay my rent. I don't care about the future of PR but I'd hesitate before making certain assumptions without a scientific proof or actual announcement from google.
LOL! Joeychgo: "Oh my God! The sun is gone! The sun has exploded! The sun has been eliminated forever! Friend: "Relax. Wait for the big, fluffy white cloud to pass." Watching Google is always interesting...
Something is going on. I've been monitoring my domains with mcdar every 3/4 hours since last week. I looked earlier today and PR was the same. I just checked 4 of them after reading joeychgo's thread and they all report 0/10 . Google is either screwed up or we're seeing the end of published PR. -jay
LOL Go here and LOOK before you tell me how something has PR. http://www.mcdar.net/KeywordTool/keywordtool.asp The datacenters are propagating the 0 pr fast
You may be on to something. I've watched this for quite a while and I've never seen changes (any changes) propogate this fast. The last check I made was at 6:20pm and everything looked the same. -jay
Who knows what is going on. Their cache server was down earlier today. Another "strange" recent google event.
I noticed the cache doing some funny stuff over the last 48 hours.... This is a post I made yesturday that there going to target future PR checkers: http://www.searchen.com/forum/t259-hiding-true-pr.html
I just finished checking 6 of my competitors at mcdar and they are all reporting 0/10 pr on all datacenters. Very interesting. . I guess the link brokers and the domain sellers are going to have to revamp their business models?
Well, without pagerank, hundreds of thousands of webmasters around the world should uninstall their google toolbars to say "thanks"... ... If they get rid of toolbar, then I have no need for them to spy on my surfing behaviour anymore.....
Again, adds to my theory that they were dumping it. I saw a few were missing, did not notice the whole server was down. It is loading pages slow.
On the other hand, its also possible that the google engineers were bored and looking for something to do this weekend, so they shut down the PR servers as a practical joke and are reading all these threads and laughing.
