Whatever you do, don't touch that $22 but you can of course continue trading with others.

There is no need to freak out. If it's not your fault then you will get your money for sure.

don't freak out... if you didn't scammed someone, you shouldn't have any problems...
I had a dispute open few months ago, after i sold a domain, and untill it was finished, my account balance looked something like -400$... but, i resolved it and got my account to normal...

there is no harm in using account and don't worry about those 22 dollars. if you are on right you'll get that back but avoid getting charge backs in future.

You responded to the mail you got from PayPal? You have to do so within 10 days normally, otherwise the thing is over and the other party will get the money, the same of course vice-versa.

What was paid with this money? Any service or an item you have shipping info for (which would be the better thing)?

    Kind regards

right: there is nothing better then if other party doesn´t respond within an open dispute. so you win and in shortest possible time. if he responds all this can need much more time.

    regards

Whether you get your money back, as far as i'm aware, depends on who opened the dispute.

If Paypal themselves have launched an investigation into a transaction (usually done to ensure against fraud) then even if the other party doesn't respond and you do, they could still send the money back to them.

Its an absolute bitch when that happens because on the one hand, you've done nothing wrong - but on the other if someone has hacked a paypal account or used an illegal credit card then it makes sense that it would be charged back.

However if the other party lodged the dispute and they then fail to respond within a given timeframe the money should be credited back to you.
