This is one question I don't understand. There are enough Free Directories, Why go for Paid Directories? If you go for PR there are free Directories with Good PR. if you go for visitors free Directroies get more visitors as well. What is the main logic in going for Paid Directories? Thanks
Higher PR and free directory will take long time to approve and reject a website, and normally the chance to get rejected is more than 50%. And these directoires are arrogant, and think themselves as DMOZ. If you are lucky, you will get a rejection email with no reasons inside. However, 100% paid directory will guarantee approval if you submit to correct category, and the approval time is immediately. Sorry here, I'm also only submitting to free directories, because I don't have enough budget. But this is the experience after submitting to 1200 free directories.
You submitted to 1200 free directories! How much visits did you get, did it improve drastically? Why dont you submit to my free directory, www.searcha.info , completely no strings attached
Paid directories also tend to have higher standards. Many times you get what you pay for. Not that free directories are to be entirely avoided.
I have not found this to be true at all. I've submitted my website to many hundreds of free directories and have had an acceptance rate of over 95%, and it's generally accepted quickly. I can't explain why you are getting more than 50% of your submissions to free directories rejected. One guess is that perhaps you are trying to "get more PR" by submitting to top-level categories, when your site belongs in some more appropriate sub-category. If this is the case, lots of directory owners will reject you.
Hows eugene jim? I agree with what your saying, the rate of acceptance should be higher. One problem I see often is people giving tiny one sentence descriptions. Or just listing keywords with commas for a description. Take a bit of time on your description so it looks nice and not so generic.
Good advice. In submitting to directories, it's important to respect the directory owner by giving him/her a quality submission. Eugene is great (kids are here), but cold and rainy lately.
You don't get traffic from directories, even paid, or free (except some few). they are there for PR only. The free directories have lower PR, when they get higher, they will turn to paid.
if you can find free high PR directories with high PR in the sub directories and lots of them, go for it.
