I recently got into all of this online marketing, website creation, etc. and am really enjoying it. I am almost done creating my first ever website and would like some reviews on it. www.thepokerstrategy.com will basically be a semi 'landing page' for poker strategy guides (I am selling one of my own and advertising two others). Not all of the links are up (faqs, testimonials, partners, and articles are not up yet) but you can get the general sense of the website from the pages that are. As you can tell I am no graphic designer or artist by any means but I did the best I could. Please give your honest reviews, if it's bad please tell me! Thanks for any advice you can give.
The text is a little hard to read - I think it's too bold, especially for the top navigation. Also, you might want to use CSS instead of an image map as this is better in terms of SEO and usability. Other than that, the layout is ok, but the colors are a bit hard on the eyes and looks a little too Christmas-y. Hope that helps.
Thank you for the suggestions. I will look at the links again, the site isn't finished so I'm sure there are a lot of dead links. As for the navigation bar, I will mess around with that a little, make it less bold? Regarding color scheme, I was trying to go for a poker-style look (green poker table). I agree though, too Christmas like. Any suggestions? I am not artistic at all, and obviously not good with colors. Keep the suggestions coming Thanks edit: I am too very familiar with css (never used it) but I will look into it more.
i dont really like the green black with white background.. navigation is not working some pics. Facuz!

New layout will look better. But you might want to add the left navigation menu there. BTW, something don't look right at your cards (top right image)...

Yes, definitely put the spade in the middle. Also, remove the A and spade from the top right corner of the card.
