Theplanet or Liquidweb servers?

What hosting company do you guys think is the best? In terms of uptime, support, and managed servers. Is theplanet better or are Liquidweb servers better?

Between the 2, I'd choose LW

nice uptime

The planet(haven't used them):
100 Gbit connectivity and housing over 40k servers(all listed on their website), doesn't seem to fit the per server quota.
Charge you as much as they can.
Many negative reviews, horror stories etc. etc.

 

Really from whom?

 

ThePlanets support has gone down the drain since merging with EV1. From what I've read, they're willing to give you instant sales support, but once they've got you, that's it.

Check out WebHostingTalk.com. There are plenty of negative reviews about ThePlanet.

 

Where does their support system lack? Phone support or support tickets?

I personally use SoftLayer and have done for about 1 year and 3 months now (currently have 6 servers with them)

Those are just from the first page of the 'Dedicated Servers' area and basic comment on the support issues ThePlanet have.

Agreed, there have not been many good things said lately about theplanet.
Check WHT, there is a hot thread running right now.

 

Go with Liquid. I used them for years. In fact they have excellent support .

 

IMO, FDC are better than both put together

out of the two, LW

 

I used to host at a shared host that colocated with The Planet, and there was a lot of network-related downtime...

I've heard good things about LW.

Well, hostgator uses Theplanet's servers and they barely have any problems.

 

You need to check for WHT with Theplanet horror stories and you'll see the reality.

 

I've seen them already. I've been using Theplanet for years now. Support is great for me.

 

You're the lucky one.

 

I am a lucky one too as I have been using Host Gator for years with very little problems

 

But I guess I'm not that lucky as when I used Layeredtech and FDC, they were most horrible ones for me, about an year ago before the web hosting company started.
