Theories of Google PageRank. What will happen? What is happening? Anyone? Check this crap out.. http://www.mcdar.net/about-google-datacenters.htm http://blogs.zdnet.com/Google/?p=757 I don't know what to think..
What theory? Dont worry the world is not going to end. Relax. PR is a mere tool for webmasters to play with.
Someone said that Google might be using hidden pageranks. They will still use PR but nobody can check.
in my opinion, google is developing a new algo for paid links and they did no get success until now. i think they are waiting for that
Page Rank is definately here to stay, its not going anywhere or being replaced by anything. Why would google go to all this trouble in trying to stop paid links and websites from passing PR, if they are actually getting rid of it????? That would be a complete waste of time and money! So PageRank is abviously here to stay. The only reason people are worrying and talking about it being abandoned is because it hasnt been updated for a while. We all know why its not been updated, because they are working on stopping paid links. Everyone should just be patient and i'm sure it will be updated again by the end of november at the latest.
Pagerank is simply a measure of how likely a site is to be found through random clicking of links within the net. The concept won't disappear. Google rejig the formula simply to avoid it being gamed or manipulated. Pagerank is updated daily, its only the toolbar that is updated periodically, presumably to avoid SEO's knowing too much information, much like the backlinks (which the offical explanation of why they don't show all the backlinks being "We haven't got much room on our servers" )
Internal pagerank is called 'internal pagerank' At some point Google takes internal PageRanks, put them on a 0-10 scale, and export them so that they’re visible to Google Toolbar users. By the time you see newer PageRanks in the toolbar, those values have already been incorporated in how Google score/rank its search results. http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/more-info-on-pagerank/
They do use hidden pagerank. Matt Cutts said internal PR is a continuously updated floating point number like 4.56437 instead of the pr5 that we would see in the toolbar.
Yes, it's true. The purpose of the PR that is shown in your toolbar is for us to know what is the current toolbar PR but the real PR is only google knows.
I hope Google would do something like a real time PR so that there's nothing much to discuss. But I know such consequences will occur like most PR obsessed people will focus more on PR building than quality content. Now that's a bad thing might happen.
