I am looking at getting some themed links for my annoying term "Bling". Any suggestions where I may look?
Search for it and click 'similar pages'. Those are related themes in G's eyes. Also try Google Sets. Bang in some words, including 'Bling' and some others you think are relevant and see what G comes up with. Most importantly, get links from those already ranking for 'bling'.
there used to be a site thedanceman.com who called himself king of bling bling (really just a dork who danced in public - when he really shouldnt). Too bad the site is gone now. Otherwise donna probably has it closest
Actually, it's kinda funny. I've been seeing this ad on free to air lately for a cell phone plan or company or some such. I'm in Australia, so you might find something to do with mobile/cell phones. I must admit, you came to mind when first i saw it.
Rather than targeting words only related to 'bling' I'd try shooting for theming by site type - go to Google's flavors and figure out which category you fit in - since it's a site-flavored search, it's almost surely the theming system they're using for determining relationships. Once you find your category, just find other sites that would fit into that category or at least the level above it, then get links there. http://labs.google.com/personalized/customize.html
Why would my main competitors be interested in giving me a link? I was thinking more along the lines of when you have a Windows site, you find Windows forums, give an honest contribution and provide a backlink in your signature. Bling forums doesn't seem very popular though.
