how to make wordpress theme with a picture of our own choosing. does require special software? if yes. what is the name of the software needed? Thank you very much
Do you mean replace the header image? No you don't need special software. You may need to edit the header.php file. what theme are you using and are you sure there are no Dashboard Settings to allow you to do it from there?
hi hmansfield I've found the "header.php". but where do I need to replace with my picture .. and pictures with the format if I can input ..
I can't help you without seeing the site, or knowing what theme you are using. I may even need to see the header.php file. Are you SURE that there is no dashboard setting to change the header? Check Appearance, or see if your theme has separate settings.
I use Theme business_advice_wp with 6 Widgets and I see the option for business advice wp options. but I do not see any option to change the header. do i have to change over the appearance - editor - header.

Open the original theme files, look in the images folder and see of you can find the image that matches the header. If so, that is the easiest way to change it. Just take it, open it in photoshop ( or GIMP) and clear it out and put what ever you want in it, and re-upload. It's called Header.jpg, and it's here: http://chelianto1986.com/wp-content/themes/business_advice_wp/business_advice_wp/images/Header.jpg It also looks like you have the files doubled up. Should there be a folder inside the theme with the same name as the theme? Sometimes when you upload a new theme by just uploading the zip file, you'll see that there's a folder inside the folder and you need to unzip it and upload the theme manually via FTP so that you have the actual theme folder. But I have to believe that there is a setting that allows you to do it in the theme settings.
