i am in a limbo here... I would like to start to purchase template footer links... but as being one who ALWAYS removes the footer links whether they are encrypted or not I just dont know how benefitial this type of marketing really is... can anyone give me some insight ???
Of course, users do not want on their website there is such a link, I suggest you direct contact with a number of site owners direct purchase link!
It's a risky idea... i mean you will get some newbies who won't know how to remove the links, and those that are scared to remove links just on the offchance that a site will no longer work just because a link has been removed, but the vast majority are clued up on how to do it. I personally leave the links in, due to knowing the time and effort that usually goes into these things, but you're going to end up with low PR links to your site when users use them since it's likely to be newbies using the theme's, most big sites will have a custom theme of their own
Thanks both of you... it make sense to buy links direct, also It makes a ton of sense that mostly low PR sites will be linking in because the sites I would like links from probably already has a custom theme. Thanks for the insight !
you can always check your link back with help of automatic software....................and purchase links only monthly basis not yearly basis so if you don't found your link then you can stop payment.............so anyone will never remove your links.............
yeah buying links are risky business... for the simple fact people will, can and do remove backlinks say 3 months down the road... and not ALWAYS on purpose. Say they redesign a site after ALONG time, some accidents happen, but thats what is good about using a CMS everything just seems to work easier and things like that dont happen.
I just started buying such links, only one so far. If I choose to buy a sponsorship on a theme I make sure it is related to the site I am buying the link for, such as a dog theme to promote a dog products site, etc.. I may be wrong, but I can't see how it would hurt when I am using that guideline. Chances are that theme is only going to be used for something dog related so it's going to be a relevant link anyway. Right? The last link I bought was only $8 so even if it only nets me a few links, still no big loss. We'll see how it work's out..
yeah you are right ! an 8 dollar bid can not do anything but help in a situation like that. but about the niche thing, I dont think that has anything to do if a webmaster leaves the link on or not. I think it is the individual webmaster... for example not to hurt your feelings or anything, and I dont even know what your site is. But if I bought or downloaded a theme for my pet website, I would probably still remove the footer links... i just dont like forced footer links.
What I meant about the niche was that I might buy a footer link on a dog related theme to promote my dog related sites, so the sites content will most likely be relevant to my link. I realize some webmasters have the know how to remove links, and may do so. I have myself whenever the links were for gambling, pharmacy etc.. Others I don't care and I just leave them there. I look for links on themes with encrypted footers, and also those that say the theme will not function if the links are removed. I guess someone smart enough might be able to remove them anyway, but I would guess the majority wouldn't attempt it because they wouldn't want to mess up the theme..
for example SOME of the themes you are referring to that wont work... if the footer.php is CALLED and then the the link text is even edited it wont work. However if you simply name the footer.php file a different name, and then include it .... the link security doesnt work. that is ONE simple way to remove the links I do realize that some will leave the links... but it is highly doubtful that a PR5 website is going to leave the links in the footer
