Theme modification will it affect the ranking?

    I have a site that i wanted to modify the theme that im using, BTW im using wordpress. i just want to modify the header,sidebar,footer,etc, but not the theme just the images will it affect my seo for the site and its rankings on SE's? :) thanks

    If you change anything that is treated as content and content position it will affect your ranking. Like if you change positions of keyword in header, title, content, alt text for images then it will affect. If you will only change colors and images then it wont.

    And changing URL structure. This is a big one people seem to overlook many times.

    i think it will not effect your serp but in my opinion, taking care of xhtml validate will help you to have good serp for your keywords

    NO!!.. Not at all... changing themes will not affect anything. Its the content that makes things fluctuate, incase you plan to change that.

    If you modify the images only, it won't affect your SEO.

    Also, my friend has a site (running on Wordpress) on which he changes the theme quite often (few times a week) and the site is still pretty well ranked in SEs.

    I change themes like underwear, and my site stays at the top of the rankings. So I would have to say no.

    It wont affect your rankings if you'll just do little modifications on your site. If it's a total make-over, then that could cause a drop in rankings

    It would effect your ranking if you change the position of the sidebar in the html code.

    i have suggest the if u van change ur sites theme then not effect in SEO but content is effected as well as change the position of k/w in header,title or content

    Changing contents can really affects ranking....so instead of changing the contents just add more contents... :D
