Note: This site is also listed at Sitepoint
    http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2700570#post2700570

    URL: http://www.thefriendtrain.com

    Age of site (months): 2

    Monthly revenue: $1500

    Revenue details:
Revenue is all generated through YPN text advertisements. Fastclick is not used and if you have fastclick you could probably make much more. Stats of traffic are here:
    http://www.thefriendtrain.com/sale/ypn.jpg

    Monthly page views: 2700000

    Traffic details:
Most traffic is from myspace. In the month of February I used my myspace account to send bulletins. Some of March I did this too. I lost my myspace account on 4/22 so earnings started to decrease but have leveled out at about $50/day. As of now I am doing NO bulletin advertising what so ever and still making $50/day. If you have a myspace account you could greatly increase this amount. 44% of hits are from direct address and 2.3% is from Search Engines.

    http://www.thefriendtrain.com/sale/stats.jpg

I don't have stats for previous months since I switched servers halfway through this month and did not backup the traffic logs.

    Averaging 5k unqiues/day.

    Description:
This site runs a turnkey myspace script however it is heavily modified. One example is the SEO script we installed on it. It allows you to set page titles and meta tags for each page. This is why we were able to gain such good search engine results in just 2 months. The profile voting is also custom coded by me. Oh, the news system also is custom.

The design of this site is exclusive and I have the PSD to prove it. Like I said, this is a heavily modified turnkey script.

TheFriendTrain was part of many of the new auto train scripts, however I was able to code something into the train script to prevent these.

There is more customization on the main page which lists the last 6 train riders, giving them more reason to join the train.

Like I mentioned, the site has over 20 people on most of the day and I am not doing any myspace advertising myself. There is much higher potential for this website.

I can take paypal for this transaction however I am open for alternative methods from the buyer.

I am in no real hurry to sell this website, so if it does not fetch the price I am looking for I shall not sell it. Starting bid is less than 7 times the monthly profit!

Myspace sites are hot right now, and this can be a great buy!

I will be available for questions.

    Type of site:
Established and functional website with traffic

    Price (or starting bid): 10000

    Is an auction?: Yes

    Google page rank: 5

How do you feel about the recent MySpace limit on friend adding?

Is that why you're selling a site that earnes $1500 a month?

I don't even know about any limit on Myspace friend adding. Like I said, I lost my account a week or so ago and haven't really bulletin advertised it myself this entire month. Only a few times.

We are selling so we can afford to take on a new project we are looking at.

Oh OK so you had no idea.

Well then, now that you know, do you still think it is worth as much and why?

I would still say its worth as much, I don't see how the amount of friends you can add on your myspace account effects the value of the website. If your thinking about how easy it is to make an account to advertise the website with, well you don't even need your own myspace account to advertise it to keep the current profits. If you want to earn more then a myspace account would be a great idea though.

The value of this website is not dependant on how easily you can add friends to your myspace account IMO.

I don't know who Mak is nor if he is serious but a bid is a bid. I don't know what your getting at.

A turnkey script can be bought but it doesnt come with the profits this does, nor the customization or the establishment. Almost no work is needed to be done to maintain the $50/day.

I would recommend lowering the starting bid and setting a BIN - with the site being only 2 months old its hard for someone to part with 10x months earning - If you can keep the $$ up and hold onto it for 6 months then should be able to get what you are after. Really I would contact those people that have bid 10k and 11k - they seem like nice numbers to me

I would take that $11,000 offer if I were you. I would have closed that deal as soon as I could have.

I would like to ponit to a thread in YPN forum, there are users whose YPN account is terminated for myspace related traffic (quality of traffic was named as reason). While two sites can't be compared, looking at the site, looks like ban is coming any moment.

So best suggestion I can offer is take the offer!
