how much could i get for thebestchristmastrees.net thebestchristmastrees.com is listed on godaddy for $1,188, and .net domains seems to be around the same as .com's so what do you think?
First of all list it on DP and see what others think of it. To the matter of the fact, it might not be worth anything at all. Most of those estimates by GoDaddy is wrong.
I would not go by godaddy. A person can list a domain name for whatever they want. Whenever, I occasion to check newly listed for sale there always seems to be someone that is trying for $50,000 for some of the worst stuff!! Rather look at what has recently sold and even there we do not know all the details that may have closed the sale at a certain price. A year or two back, I noticed certain .com going for great prices and tried registering same or similar in the other tld... so far, it has not paid off. Currently, I am subscribing to the .com or nothing school of thought. I think .net vs .com does make a difference and usually the .net is discounted somewhat. Also, where .net works about as good as a .com would be where there is great type in or generic keyword usage. thebestchristmastrees.net seems rather long at 4 keywords. 22 characters is rather long. Would someone type in the-best-christmas-trees, or will the search engines zero in on the keywords to bring traffic? Maybe, it would take some keyword research to determine. I would agree with the $50 with maybe $xxx to an enduser who wanted to promote it.
It could've been listed on Godaddy for $1 billion dollars if the owner wishes, listing prices mean nothing. As to your name, it's a long one for a .net, the only value I see in it is in development, otherwise, reg fee
