The worth of Yahoo Directory?

    Hi,

Has anyone paid the $199 for Yahoo Directory inclusion? I see that no pagerank is tranferred (so it seems). So in terms of traffic and worth or even authority, is this directory worth the money?

    Advice please!

I paid for it... Not sure if that answers your question but snooping at my competitors websites they were listed. I'll be interested in others opinions.

I wouldn't waste my money on it. I'm pretty sure you could find better ways to spend $199 on link building than submitting on one directory!

If only it were a mere $199! It's $299 per year

I am interested really in the supposed authority that google might give to a yahoo approved site but I note that some of the yahoo categories are not even cached by google. And as you can't be 100% certain where you might end up it seems like an expensive lottery on delving deeper into it.

You can certainly get a MUCH BETTER deal for that $300. Just look at the services thread.

I don't think will make a big difference, for this money you can get other links.

Adding to Yahoo Directory will not give significant rising of PR. Of course you can try it if you have extra $199 per year. But my opinion: there are many others paid directories with deep links and very high PR where you should submit site to. Moreover they offer permanent listings and you will not have to pay each year as in the case with Yahoo.

P.S. Send me pm and I will suggest how to submit a website to such directories with 25% discount.
