I have 2 gigs with my Vista and it seriously lags. The only problem is I've never used another OS except for Vista and XP. I may have to upgrade my RAM.

Yeha but you end up buying more ram to meet its requirements which costs more money from your pocket. The system requirements may be same, but in that case vista is as slow as hell compared to xp.

    -Thanks

Windows Vista looks very good, but it takes up too much resources, and not alot of the softwares work on it aswell. I prefer XP.

    vista > mac/xp
    xp = mac

    Thats my chart..

Every OS has thier ups and downs

    Macs
    + few virues
    - You can hack it easily
    - Some forms of thier style is more "gay" or extremely "girly"
    - Lack of Games/Software
    - Lack of support .. thier support blows
Bottom Line... Mac is for familys / Not ment for biz or gamers

    Vista
+ Style! I mean is amazing
+ Backups are fast and easy
    + Smart.
    What i mean?
When a program fails on vista it, it actaully attempts to correct it.
    - Low Resource PC are not able to run it
People complain about it eatting a lot of mem... Yet it has so much more powerful and smart programs working. I mean if your pc has 256ram.. its already under the average media pc. I believe the normal ram is 512ram but soon will be 1GB

Yet my pc already has 4GB ram and its perfect.

    - Lack of Updated drivers. Just like mac, vista has a lack in software
Yet i dont blame vista for this, but the software companies that are complaining about how they have to put some of thier profits to make new updates.

+- Updating from XP to Vista

    Bottom Line
If you have money to buy a pc, your smart move is to make sure you can have vista on it.

    XP
Ah I dont need to explain this lol

Well at the end here is what i have to say.

If you are a webmaster then you should go XP
If you are just a normal teenage girl then go Mac
If you are a gamer then you go vista
If you are just a normal person then go xp

    Adding more later

    Define beefed up would you?

Vista hasnt released any service packs yet. As for the updates, what do you expect the first time you buy a new OS and go to update it?

Have you tried using the built in compatibility function, to run these apps/games/etc in XP SP2? This solved most of my problems.

    Windows firewall is a joke.

Have you tried deleting it and doing another install?

If you dont have a good PC yes it is.
These generally only come up during installation, and initial launches.
I wont be taking your advice, sorry. If you hadnt rambled on so repetitive, and proved from the start this computer is indeed beefed up, then I might have take it more seriously.

    Leave DOS alone!!

It's lightweight, immune to spyware and to 99% of the viruses found in the wild today. It can also be tweaked any way you want. Further still, most of the software compatible with it comes for free nowadays and besides UFO: Enemy Unknown and Civ beat Halo anyday.

    Hail to abandonware :p !

Got to say Vista. I used to use it at work occasionally and hate it with a passion. Will be sticking with XP until something good enough for me to switch comes along.
