True, that's why i have decked my XP out with complete Vista cosmetics, sounds etc. To the average person they would think i'm running Vista, however i have got stability as well as the bling!

This thread isn't about being able to afford Vista, it's about it not being worth the money. I don't have any financial difficulty purchasing Vista, I actually just purchased Mac OS 10.5 Leopard, but I would much rather buy XP.

Windows ME has been the most unpredictable and unstable OS I used to work on.

 

I got the Vista theme, boot screen and screen savers from http://www.wincustomize.com/

I don't remember where i downloaded the Vista sounds, but it includes all the OS sounds like startup, shutdown etc.

Also DeviantArt.com has a stack of Vista wallpapers etc.

 

Well there you have it. You can get vista-like sounds and look-a-likes on XP, then why guy Vista? I think peopel are being fooled by the advertisement companies and buying it because its the 'newer' version. well, its not worth it at all.

 

Yep exactly, also i forgot to mention along with all the other stuff i'm running the Vista Aero FireFox theme which is pretty good.

As i said, my system is exactly like Vista but without the retarded "Are you really sure you want to do that" or the "Give me an hour to open that because i'm struggling for system resources" or the "Your a fool for buying that $300 camera because we don't have drivers" type annoyances.

 

Let us wait and watch. maybe in a couple of years time, Vista will be less buggy, more stable, and hopefully, support more than 4GB Ram

Is it true that vista owners get a free XP key? can anybody confirm this?

 

I'm comfortable with XP SP3.

 

Halo 2 is Vista Only, if it dosen't work your pc dosen't met the system reqiurements

 

I went back to XP from Vista due to poor support for the games I still play.

 

I would rate the DOS first followed by vista and the ME as the worst, worse and bad OS released by MS

 

DOS for vista is probably the worst attempt for microsoft to atchieve anything. There are probably no good points to it at all, it just drops vista ratings even further.

 

I have Vista on my laptop, I am currently running iTunes, Mediaplayer, Mediacenter, PhotoShop and last Firefox. I have no problems with vista. Its sexy looking and works great.
