Depends on the purpose of the page. Some might consider it a great CTR if the page is doing its job and people aren't leaving.

The ads are at the bottom of the page...I usually get 60,000 to 150,000 impresions per day...I am going to try some new things next week to see if I can improve the click thru %.

    ;)

ya lost me? I run a banner ad sort of near the top, but it's from a company call paypopup or something? The rates are .25 for every 1000 impressions which seems real low? and 1/2 the ads aren't even placed?

I applied for tribalfusion and interclick and am waiting to see if I get approved and whether their programs are any better. I have no experience with banner ads or popunders...although the popunders are paying $1.80 per 1000.

I think I might drop the top banner ad and replace with adsense text ads and maybe place images above each ad, I've heard that works well. On my other more targetted sites I average 11% CTR, but this one, which is a music site, gets only .1%...but at 25,000 + uniques a day you'd think I could convert a few more.

Anybody else have any suggestions for the best banner networks? I'd like to hear your experiences...

You must be nuts ! Yes, try the AdSense Leaderboard with images above... personally I'd stick 2 large rectangles there for ultimate CTR but I think you'l be astonished quite frankly compared to what you're getting now.....

Why on earth aren't you using AdSense on it already? ! ? :)

KEEP US INFORMED... THIS'L BE INTERESTING !

with that CTR, i think the Ads is poorly placed and is not well tested.

the page impression is good enough to gained much, so the webmaster must test all placements and ads looks to find the better one.

there's something called forum blindness that arises with each returning visit. You remember where the banner is and remember to ignore it. :(

I've done it here. I've clicked on DP's ads maybe twice, ever.

i think if a forum was set to show newer posts on top, instead of at the bottom it might be more CTR friendly. Since most show newer ones at the bottom, your instinct is to scroll down immediately.

Ah! you guys convinced me not to run a forum .. It's a hard, low paying job.

No one really bothers to click on ads no matter how blatant you try to put the ads on the page

Not really true if you know what you are doing.

Sorry Nintendo but I think you could do your ad in better ways. For one You should always border and background the ad the same. Make it seamless into the site. Also you should try making the text for the ads WHITE. You can keep the headers that neon green but try changing the description text. Also you have no inline ads...look at the example here.

I actually make $1 a day average on this site from the revenue sharing. They use the ads here very well.

CTR is generally lower in a forums. Mine is low as well but a little higher than what you guys have. I have a LOT of impressions in day. I also kill ads for registered members. It's generally new members anyways that click the ads since they aren't used to them yet.

Nintendo, perhaps all that free links stuff is more distracting being directly under your ads, although i am sure you make revenue from them too.
and i am sure it is possible to be 'over blatant' too

and i just went to one of your amazon aws...no wonder ebay is thriving

    Spitfire cufflinks
    Usually ships in 1-2 months

2 months !!!!!this is the 21st Century !!
