Anand drew with Gelfand in Round 1

In fact all the games ended in a draw in Round 1

Round 2- Anand beat Aronian with black, Kramnik beat Morozevich with white. The remaining two games ended in a draw. Both of Kramnik's games have seen him play with white.

Ive never heard of any of those, but seriously, a PRIZE of 1.3 million $ - thats unbeleiable. i never realised you could win so much money for something like this.

    are you kidding :p

thats the World Chess Championship, it doesn't happen every day.. not even every year.
These are 8 of the best players on the planet chosen out of thousands of others in a series of evens prior to it and the prize fund is only US $ 1.3 million.
Pretty much in any other kind of sport the moneys for world championship would be much higher :\

Flash have a look at the ELO Rating of the eight involved. Look at the difference between the first and the last. All of them have a rating of greater than 2700.

Chess is one of those few games where there isn't too much of a difference in the top 10-On a good day, anybody can beat anybody- you can't predict a winner that easily. If the sole aim was to draw, I have no doubt that Grischuk could do that nine out of 10 games against Anand.

I'm rooting for Anand, who's always the nearly man.

Actually I wish Kasparov was still playing... ;)

    Anyone here plays on Playchess.com?

I used to play on PlayChess.com, but haven't logged in there for like half a year now.
    Their interface is pretty good.
