Anand drew with Gelfand in Round 1 In fact all the games ended in a draw in Round 1 Round 2- Anand beat Aronian with black, Kramnik beat Morozevich with white. The remaining two games ended in a draw. Both of Kramnik's games have seen him play with white.
Ive never heard of any of those, but seriously, a PRIZE of 1.3 million $ - thats unbeleiable. i never realised you could win so much money for something like this.
are you kidding thats the World Chess Championship, it doesn't happen every day.. not even every year. These are 8 of the best players on the planet chosen out of thousands of others in a series of evens prior to it and the prize fund is only US $ 1.3 million. Pretty much in any other kind of sport the moneys for world championship would be much higher :\ ~MG
Flash have a look at the ELO Rating of the eight involved. Look at the difference between the first and the last. All of them have a rating of greater than 2700. Chess is one of those few games where there isn't too much of a difference in the top 10-On a good day, anybody can beat anybody- you can't predict a winner that easily. If the sole aim was to draw, I have no doubt that Grischuk could do that nine out of 10 games against Anand.
I'm rooting for Anand, who's always the nearly man. Actually I wish Kasparov was still playing... Anyone here plays on Playchess.com?
I used to play on PlayChess.com, but haven't logged in there for like half a year now. Their interface is pretty good. ~MG
