I dont think that'll be a problem, as long as you put a little disclaimer as to who's copyright it is
As Pinpointcomm mentioned you need to add a little disclaimer at the end of the website just to make sure that there are no confusions or issues
It's trademark infringement to use it in a domain without permission. A disclaimer isn't going to help you. Microsoft has sued hundreds of people using their trademarks in their domain, including 360-x-boxlive.com, gentexbox.com, fexbox.com, microsoftfreegames.com, tvfeexbox360.com, etc. Other people doing something doesn't make it legal.
mjewel is 100% correct. You have absolutely no rights to use that in a domain name without permission.
Even if xbox360repair.com got away with it, Microsoft has the right to pull the plug on their site at any given notice. Personally, I wouldn't f*** with Microsoft
Agreed, Dont even buy it. If your site goes rapidly Microsoft will contact you and ask you to transfer them over to you, its happened may times. XBOX and XBOX360 are registered trademarks you cannot use them without permission.
this is very true, you could run into this issue.... I have before to a huge, huge company (Bigger then Microsoft) and their lawyer requested I transfer it over to them. I STILL have not so far, and I am not planning to.
Dude he never said using it as a tld.. I hate when people reply to posts without properly reading them first just to get their count up. e.g domain.tld means the same as yourdomain.yourtld, not .yourdomain, idiot. Also, you can apply to have a new tld issued(with an application fee - which you don't get back, even if it's declined - of I think US$80,000, I'm not sure on the amount, could be entirely wrong) so yes, it is possible(however unlikely), but to do that you'd need to be MS and if anything, I think they'd only really want .microsoft (as .ms is a ccTLD), but even then, there's no point. Best bet would be to ask MS themselves, that way you get a definite answer(and not a "possibly"), though it may take some time. I'm still waiting for word back from Fox and South Park Studios regarding use of images.
