Sounds like the Islamic world really needs more of people like him. I wonder if he has gotten death threats.

Not yet because he didn't deny Islam principals. Fatwa of dead sentence for Salman Rushdi was because he claimed Salman Farsi a Persian guys who was so close to Prophet Mohammad dictated Quran to Prophet hence he denied Mohammad was God messenger whereas Soroush didn't claim that .

first time Qoraish (prophet Mohammad trib) acused him to follow Salman Farsi and the this part of Quran came.

    Chapter 16: AN-NAHL (THE BEE)
[Nahl 16:103] And indeed We know that they say, "This Qur’an is being taught by some other man"; the one they refer to speaks a foreign language, whereas this is clear Arabic!

in Arabic Quran mentioned that guy was Ajam. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ajam

He will die. He threatens the current power structure, and that is good enough.

Interesting. That's a much more pluralistic Iran than I imagined. I hope to see free press and TV in Iran too, someday.
