I looked for it here but could not find an explanation. To my understanding, post articles to web 2.0 sites with a link pointing to my site and then everything else like articles, blog posting, etc link to the web 2.0 sites linking to the original site?? Is this the way it works or am i way off? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

link pass page rank....and when you string together a couple of links in a row....then they ultimately end at your website...that is a link wheel its kind of like a page rank snowball effect social bookmark -> article - > press release -> blog post -> your website that would be a link wheel just do a google images search and you will find tons
An example would be linking one of your blog posts which has a link to your main site to another blog or bookmarking it on a social site, etc.
