The` weirdest` problem` ever

My` computer` has `this` huge` problem` -` everytime` I` type` the` SPACE` key` on` my `screen` it` shows` this` dot` and` then` a` space.` Just `like` you `see` on` this` post.` How` do` I` fix` this??

PS` When` I` press` SHIFT` SPACE` it` turns` into` ~ symbol.` I'm` using` normal` keyboard` and` everything` was `fine` before.` Please` help!!

 

Sounds like you may have done some damage with your keyboard. My old one would do random characters like that after I spilled milk on it. I'd say try replacing your keyboard (I know EggHeads were selling at TigerDirect store here in Durham for like $5).

 

have you tried using a different keyboard?
you don't have crumbs in it do you?

 

Tried restarting PC or unplugging keyboard?

 

I try another keyboard and it works perfectly fine. Does this mean my other keyboard is screwed for good

 

Hit the 'dot' button hard,atleast 5-6 times and try again.

 

I've` tried `hitting` every` button` hard` on` this` keyboard `and` its` still` like `this`.` Now` when` I` press` SHIFT` 1` it` selects `the` line` that` I` just` typed` and` when` I` press `1` the` cursor` jumps` to` a` point `in` the `previous` line.

 

when did this happen and how?

did you try restarting your comp?

Look at the settings in control panel

Leave the keyboard off forwhile for a day or something and try back again

Look on the manufacturer site for support

maybe it is some virus ? or just go and buy a new keyboard ... it doesn't cost much

 

Sounds like your running vista sorry I don't know, maybe try defaulting your keyboard settings.

 

I took your advice and now I'm using the original dell keyboard and it works perfectly.

 

mmmmmmm, the keyboard, maybe it was a stick key.

must be a bad key or something. try it on another PC or maybe try blowing it out with compressed air...if all else fails put it under someone's car and have them back over it :-P

If your keyboard is fine then I guess this may be avirus problem. But before your minds shifts to that it better if you change you key board. If the problem gets solved then fine otherwise better you format your system!!

If Your computer does not work correct (in this case your keyboard ) how could You even login to the forum
Just joking, You have to clean Your keyboard probably because it might be dirty under tasters.
