I found this website while searching for "cell phones reviews": http://www.livingroom.org.au/cameraphone/ I think this website is solely built for AdSense, because there is no real content (only stolen one from other sources) and lots of well-plugged Google AdSense ads. I am right? Also, I found out that this website receives around 5K unique visitors each day on average.
As far as I can see, it's a blog used to show information about camera phones. It seems to pull in information from many sources. I must admit to finding it an interesting read actually - It's nice not to have to chase around 10 or more sites just to get information. Yes, it was probably put together with adsense in mind. But I'd say it's pretty well done and pretty useful. How did you find out that it receives 5K uniques per day ??
There is a link (a square image) at the bottom of the page pointing here: http://extremetracking.com/open?login=oziiii Here we unveil stats.
That site is within the TOS by far as far as google is concerned, they want to make money to ya know.
If he's getting that many visitors per day (on JUST the camera blog alone), he's doing something right ;p
Yes I agree it'a great site, I wish or hope my blog gets as successful in time as his camera one. Seems a lot of the folks that we comment on that are 'sneaky' or 'built just for adsense' our some of the top money makers out there....... And now I have been reading lately where some don't pay to have content written, and they also don't sit and write the content themselves. There is software you can buy that 'creates website content' pages based upon keywords you choose. One guy reported the software enabled him to create more pages in one hour then he could of researched and written in 6 months !
I found the source of his traffic: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&q=camera+phone+reviews&btnG=Search http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=camera+phone+reviews&FORM=QBRE3 http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=ca...Search&fr=FP-tab-web-t&toggle=1&cop=&ei=UTF-8 #1 on the big 3 for "camera phone reviews" Not a bad blog in my opinion. It is all camera phone news aggregated.
Just because the site owner didn't write the content himself/herself, doesn't meant that the site doesn't have real content. The site does have real content, and that content is both useful and legitimate (legitimate because he/she is linking to each story's source.) Many successful blogs use the same format, and there's nothing wrong with it, as long as you give credit to the copyright owner by linking to the source, etc. Thew owner deserves every penny earned with AS, IMO. In reply to the very first question I am sure it is a site designed for Adsense. But it is nicely put together - I would love to know the CTR.
I don't think so, and here's my test: If you remove the AS ads, would the site still be functional and useful to people? For the site in question, the answer is clearly "yes". As always, IMO. AmCy
Now that is a common sense litmus test, I wonder if G uses simple common sense, or have some patented algo for it. tom
To speculate an answer to sparkimarki guess on CTR, based on the design, topic and look of the site, I would guess 5-10% but wouldn't be surprised if it was 15% or higher. It all depends on the traffic source, if it includes advertising like Adwords it would be higher than if only its search engine traffic. People who come in by ads, tend to leave by ads. Nice rankings, #1 in all Google, MSN, and Yahoo for a nice keyword set.
I actually found that site to be more useful than most AdSense/content themed sites to the point where I bookmarked it. I know where I'll be going when shopping for cameras. Whoever runs it is providing not just a resource, but probably a good amount of income for themselves too. Oddly enough, they don't seem to have THAT many backlinks, in which most are from other blogs. That site appears to have a great deal more potential too.
the only problem i see is that he has adbrite ads on there as well as adsense ones.. that could get him in trouble with google if they see it
