It was mentioned once, but Netfirms is not worth getting involved with. They are very manipulative about making unauthorized charges "in error" no matter what you tell the Customer service you want to order...but if you only plan on having your site up for a year, use the MAX promo for $10/year. That's about what it's worth.
Also, if you plan on using Wordpress with Netfirms, plan on hassles.
On the other hand, server uptime has been good (so far!)

VERY true!!! Cheap prices, "unlimited" resources = disaster waiting to happen... most of these hosts are run by 15 year olds who are reselling the hosting so they are really selling space they don't have... i'd stay away from those.

It's all an issue of communication. There was a rule that I learned years ago: you get what you pay for (exceptions do happen sometimes) but in general terms the most "expensive" service gives you the best results, if you are thinking in serious long term enterpises. ;)

Well they are not so bad any more but for 2 months they had TERRIBLE uptime and were deleting accounts i had without contacting me and no support at all.. Now uptime is good and havent really had anything deleted yet.

We all hate shoutserv.. Chris Blood is working with them. Makes it very hard to trust his hosting as well now.

Its not possible... can you sell unlimited acres of land? Then how can you sell unlimited space and bandwidth? Your selling an infinite source, how can you do that?

Also Yahoo domain registrar is one of the worst there are... never tried their hosting but I expect the same is for the hosting...

Godaddy may improve when google takes over...

    LISTEN GUYS!

My thread is not for fighting! I am trying to compile a list of hosts DP members should stay away from if possible to lower the possibility of getting scammed.. If you had no problems with them then thats fine as obiously others have had problems.

Any flamming posts or off topic posts are going to be instantly reported to the mods.

Bottom line: Unlimited hosting is NOT possible no matter how you want to word it to make it sound good.. it just cant be done. There is no earns for the person doing it. I would hope by now that everyone here at DP is intelligent enough to see that as its overselling even if you sell 1 account with reseller.

Anyways continue on with ON TOPIC posts.
