I'd like to add 1&1 to that list...

Until now, I've been a supporter of them, backing them up 100%... Until today...

All of my ASP sites (like 6), were down for over 11 hours today... When I started calling tech support (at like hour 8), the barely-english-speaking-indian* on the phone said that they have no idea how much longer the host will be down... They flat out refused to let me speak to a manager (i wanted someone I could understand a little better)... Then when I reminded them they have a 99.99% guarantee, and asked how they are going to compensate those of us that were effected, she said "I'm sorry. I can't do anything. You can try email a complaint, but it probably won't help because this is a known issue"...

Lately they've been having more and more outages...

    * = I have nothing against indians, but today was the worst attempt at english I've ever heard...

Hi ... is reporting a reasonably good experience okay in this thread. I've been with netnation.com 2.5+ years. $6 a month, prepaid, unmetered bandwidth and so much space, it's silly. Some minor problems, with jerks in support, which were fixed when I tracked down the support manager. Now all is good. Not much use for databases, mine are hosted elsewhere. Otherwise, a good deal and good people. FYI: I use about 180 gigs bandwidth a month and less than 2 gigs of space.

This is a good thread especially for people who are new to web hosting offers and are not aware of the scams that are so prevalent. Is there any way to have this thread stickied?

dont ever buy hosting from servage.net!
mysql support sux! scripts are simply loosing connection to mysql servers, when you write them a support ticket they say "everything is good on our side"

My hope is that it will be stickied because really this type of thread is needed.

    Thanks for the submission :)

They say that because they dont know why it is down nor how to fix it so to cover it up they say it is the other persons problem. Seen this happen so many times.

After being a customer for nearly 2 years and never being late became 5 days late and they killed my account, and wiped out the backups. Had me waiting for a response and dealing with no call backs for 2 weeks. They offered me 2 months free hosting which woule be $20. I said no that wouldn't suffice and I wanted more and a company apology on their letterhead and they told me to get lost. First time I am even mentioning this as I have just now finnally started coming back after many months of being so pissed of and not wanting to go anywhere near a computer. I thankfully had my own backups however I lost 5 months worth of work and updates (stupid me) and what a lesson learned on keeping your own. They tottally did me wrong as a customer and didn't care...

well, if you don't pay then they have the right to suspend your account

most shared hosting have backups for system crash restore but you should keep your own backup because usually shared hosting doesn't restore individual accounts

    a lesson learnt ;)

I will like to add to the list kwihosting.com

I had signed up to there reseller plan and was a customer for 2 months.

My account was deleted due to the fact that one of my clients had used his hosting account for spaming reasons. There reason for deleting my account was due to the fact that i am responable for my clients actions.

I responded back why dont you just terminate my clients account and i will notify them that there account was terminated for the reson of spamming.

    They said no your responsable.

I have lost my hosting customers and my some of my data from my sql database since they wont even provide me with a copy of there daily back up. And no refunds for the time i didnt use.

    So i wouldnt recommend kwihosting.

I agree but at the same token you can obviously see by my account payment history I am not a dead beat and I paid my bill, unfortunately that one slipped as I changed banks et cetera and never updated. They even went against their own normal procedures doing such affirmed to me by the Sales Manager but it didn't matter. After recommending people to them for the past few years I'd refer people to powweb first now :/.

If you believe they totally wronged you, it's probably because of unrealistically
unreasonable expectations, especially when your agreement spells out both of
your respective responsibilities. But...you're entitled to believe whatever you
    want, as everyone else are.

Good luck with your new host. But you ought to read your agreement and also
ask them questions lest this sort of thing might happen again.

Whatever you folks believe, remember that when dealing with businesses, it's
    the agreement that counts.

I've been with aznx.net for the past 12 months on a Reseller Account.
None of my Clients have had problems, and they are all on Unlimited Web Hosting.
It's not wether they offer Unlimited Packages, and they will go down in the next month... It's all down to the company if you ask me.
There are Unlimited Web Hosting companys what stay up.
As long as my clients are happy, what matters? ^^
