Man please don't say that, I spend more than 16 hours a day on the internet, If the web comes to an end, that would be my end too. Actualy you may be right. last week i spent 45 hours non stop surfing the internet a got this message: "You have reached the end of the Internet" No just kidding Dude.
When I read the title I thought this was about a new type of internet speculation called 'The Grid'. Your story will very most likely never happen. Our society/economy is rather dependant on internet these days, they will make sure it won't end/fall/get destroyed.
Okay guys I didn't say that this is going to be happening in a few months or even years. Sooner or later this will happen. I know that things will get smaller. Just think about how many golf balls you could fit in a box, for example.

HaHa, i really don't think the internet is coming to an end, if it was too many people would loose jobs and things like e-mail would not be about, so big company's would loose big money on phoning or faxes, people would do their hardest to keep the internet up and running if it was going to end. At the time when we were using cassette players. If someone came up to you and told you that in the future there will be a device called mp3 players. That could store lots of music and its pretty small. Would you believe that person? I don't think you would. So that's the case here.

Rofl. Entertainment section would be more proper for this. The only scenario i remember of, and makes sense, is that if a big enough meteor hits the earth, it might disable all the electronic communication, and some details about it blablabla and certainly not bc of server shortage
