What has happened to the WayBack Machine from Archive.org? Back in the day it used to export the new snapshots of sites approximately 2 months after it was cached. Their FAQ's say it could take "up to 6 months" to show on the site, yet when I search for any of the big guns, google, ebay, etc, the latest export date I can find is August 29th 2007 - which, correct me If my math skills have deteriorated from last week, but that's almost 9 months ago and not a single snapshot exported, despite Google and eBay having snapshots exported to the way back machine almost on a weekly basis. So, what has happened to the glorious WayBack Machine?!
Still works for me - I made a blog post a while ago with some URL's including eBay, Google ect. and they all work... http://www.gurucreation.com/2008/03/blast-from-past-website-motivation.html
Yeah, we are aware it still works. It's just not exporting anything, AFAIK, after August 29th 2007 - I was just hoping someone could show me otherwise
Yeah, I never liked the Wayback machine, it never gets the snapshots I want. Often their snapshots links leads to a 404 page or unavailable snapshot.
I have found lately three noticeable annoyances when it comes to archive.org - Pages are loading quite slow - Pages are displayed with a forced UTF-8 encoding despite their original encoding, fact which is causing a mess with those pages with accents and special characters. - Pages are being deleted rather than added. I went last night to retrieve some information about a personal site which has been "under revamping process" for at least one year but older pages already indexed for several years back. Even though this time I found none of them
