Can anyone help me with creating some guidelines to help me with placing a monetary value on links. I get call after call in the office with people asking me to advertise on this, advertise on this, aswell as having numerous sites I'd like to make offers on, but don't really know what monetary value to place on it. Would a PR based system work, i.e - PR 1 = £5, PR 9 = £150. What about if I manage to get a link in the footer of a PR 4 site etc etc. Any advice would be gratefully recieved! Martin PS - Have just read an intersting article on cheating PR and cloaking so valuation on pagerank is out I guess.
In my opinion, it goes like this... (prices are in USD...you'll need to convert) PR1 - PR2: lucky to get $2 to $3 per month PR3: $4 to $7 per month PR4: $8 to $12 per month PR5: $13 to $20 per month PR6: $21 to $30 per month PR7: $31 to $45 per month PR8: $46 to $200 per month PR9: $201 to $1000 per month Keep in mind that the above is a general estimate. There are other factors that can also come into play, such as the traffic a site gets (and hope of actual direct clicks from the site).
It also depends on the amount of other outgoing links. I would not want a link surround by 100s of others.
What kind of value would you place on having a link in the footer of a pretty consistant PR 3/4 directory style site (I mean most pages are PR 3/4 with a couple of 0, 1 & 2 but nothing above 4), on every page. The site has over 10,000 pages and Google has most of them indexed by the looks of them. He wants about £300 for 6 months and I can't decide whether to bite. No real interest or potential for traffic as a result of the link, am coming at it from a link building excercise.
Personally, I'd pay more for a pr3 link above the fold than a pr6 link in the footer. But that's me. Traffic more important than PR.
does anyone else agree with lorien. The way i see it its all nice to see a high page rank for you site but its the traffic that counts. Even if it has quite a high PR can it still have little traffic?
I know we are drifting slightly off-topic here, but DOES PR have any weight when it comes to ranking or not? Thanks. P.S - If you have a copy of the Google Algo, please send it to me in a private message. Many thanks.
I will advice that take the link from belwo sites:- 1.) Page rank from 2 to 5 2.) If there are outgoing link from that pages, they should be theme based 3.) There should be google ad in that page as i think ( personal point) 4.) Page should be theme based
Make sure the link is content related, preferrably from an authority site. Links from authority sites will usually give your site a ranking boost. People are too caught in in PR. Google has caught on to link brokers and other people selling links from high PR sites so it doesn't have the same effect it used to. Stick to links from sites that have similar content to yours. Just make sure the link page is cached by Google.
One of the best things a business or individual can do to promote a web site is contact a link building service. Needless to say, high-quality, relevant links are very valuable, and a solid link building campaign has the potential to have a high return on investment. Because of the importance of links in today’s search algorithms, businesses and individuals should not take choosing a link building service lightly. For one way links we charge (per link) to the following page ranks sites: 1) PR 3 link $11 USD 2) PR 4 link $13 USD 3) PR 5 link $15 USD Let me know if I can help. Shuchi
