So $70AUD to $17.32USD means profit, right?;)

Will you ditch other prods to focus on that one (once you figure it out)?

    Ok Worked it out -
The campaign so far has cost me $6.32AUD which is $4.72USD and the 1st sale is $17.36USD so a profit so far of $12.64USD or 260% Gotta be happy with that.
Avg CTR to this point is 3.5%with a position of 3.1.

I have had 1898 impressions annd 66 clicks 1 sale. Which gives me a conversion of 1.5%

    Now to go ad tweaking!

Now that I am a little more confident and bouyed by my recent success, I will review the other campaigns. I have been reading a blog of a Mother of 6 who tried 80 campaigns before she found one that worked. She is now making around $20k/month.
I'll probably shut some campaigns down and now try to expand on the one that got a sale.

Ok bit more info... btw can you tell I'm excited ?

I was only running a single ad in that ad group. I will now add another one to test. Also I am running several ad groups on this campaign and the one that got a sale has only had three clicks so far.

I used dynamic title and the click was from an [exact match] .

Okay I'm very new at this and also probably too conservative. I've tried two different approaches so far but haven't tried hard enough to spend any money.

My first attempt was with two products on amazon.com

Tell me this about keywords. Do you try to get as specific as possible, or go general. For example, if I'm trying to pimp a product like sony cybershot model 3215a, do you go with the exact model or something similar?

I think I've been too specific with my keywords and have gotten 0 clicks

I would go as specific as you can get. That way it will keep your CPC down. If you go broad you are in amongst the crowd.

I'd love to know the URL of this blog?

I'm just learning Adwords sellling my own software. Pretty tough for me because people don't usually buy the software from the same PC they download it from. Bummer.

Jim, when you say "dynamic title" do you mean that in some technical sense (changing on-the-fly), or just "powerful"?

BTW, if I didn't say it before, congrats!

    Thanks Tut
Changing on the fly. Dynamic Title is where the title from the ad is taken from the search string

    {keyword:My Default Title}

My Default Title will display when the search string can't i.e. too long, forbidden etc. Mmmm I wonder if that is a work around for the trade mark rule.

Also I am now Capitalising The First Letter Of Every Word in my ads and it has improved CTR. I also do it when the display URL is several words.

The name of the Blog is Vast Cash. If you Google that it is the first organic link.

Jim, how the hell do you do THAT?! You can use a variable in your adwords copy?!

BTW the Vast Cash affiliate blog comes up 404 in blogger when you click from the SERP in G.

    Just read my last post
I think it only works for the title though
The syntax is {keyword:then insert a phrase that you want to appear when the search string cant} Then the search string will appear in the title

For those of you that are Amazon affiliates, what display URL do you list if you are direct linking to Amazon? I looked quickly and didn't find if Amazon forbids using "www amazon com" in the display URL.

    Thanks!

Ok, I'm in. Product on Amazon with ten different keyword phrases. I have #1 ranking for three of the ten with a highly targeted niche phrase. We'll see if I can pull anything.

If you use {KeyWord:Alternate text} It will capitalize the keywords for you.
You can use this in the url also if your url's are rigged that way and I believe you can use it in the copy...but I'm not sure about that one.

Yeah looks like the blog is gone but the cached pages are still there. I wonder if "they" shut it down or she ditched it?

This is a fun thread to watch! Good luck folks!

Sunchy, nextebizguy's post was on topic. Unlike yours. We are all posting what we're doing and our progress.

    Content time ;)

I picked a specific electronic item priced 50% off on Amazon. My ad says:

    XYZ Portable XYZ Player
    50% OFF! Amazing XYZ Player
    Perfect For Family Trips

    Product price 148.00 USD

    Legend: clicks/impressions/percentage/avg position

    Keyword 1 4 / 23 / 17.3% / 4.2
    Keyword 2 0 / 26 / 00.0% / 10.8
    Keyword 3 0 / 13 / 00.0% / 3.7
    Keyword 4 0 / 12 / 00.0% / 8.5
    Keyword 5 0 / 01 / 00.0% / 5.0

    Keywords 5 - 10 0 / 0 / 0 / 0

Total cost for clicks: 44 cents

I've checked with Amazon and no buys yet. I'm not sure if they update stats real-time or daily.

I've made an Excel sheet that tells me what % I need to convert to be profitable. With this product I'll need to convert 1.5% of clicks to be profitable.
