The ultimate question - High PR Backlinks

    Hi everyone,

I have read a bit about link building. Many have encouraged forum signature links, directory links, social bookmarker links, article links, etc. I have done all of this and the max PR I had on one of my pages was a squidoo lens of PR1 (squidoo homepage is PR8). The rest are PR0. The methods are good for very little traffic but that's about it. I'm interested in increasing my positions in google and higher PR.

So, my question is...how and where should I go to get good free quality backlinks of PR4 and above? Or is this the ultimate question which the answers to them are secluded from the public by the knowledgable SEO webmasters?

    Thanks

It's not easy to get a free pr4 backlink. Webmasters/bloggers are only going to give you a freebie if you have something worth linking to.

Have you tried posting comments on high PR blogs that allow dofollow?

You need to search for keywords related to your niche (not your competitors) and see if you can find high PR webpages (SEO quake comes handy).

You can write a good article for a blogger or website and they might consider linking to you then. This would work however, only on content/article heavy sites.
