Hi everyone, I am a newbie here and this is my second post. This is what I consider to be the ultimate newbie question. Perhaps it has been done to death before but I think it is one of those things that you can never repeat too many times.... The question is: Who are the people that are, right now, making huge (I mean really good) money on the internet? And, what are they doing?? By who I mean actual particular names of people, and/or also general categories of activities... I have a fairly broad range of web skills (though not expert level in any one thing), but until recently I have never tried to actually market or sell anything of my own. So i am wondering what are the best areas to focus on... I imagine that most of the online ways of making $ are going to be like most things in real life -- that is, a tiny few people are doing really well with them and all the rest are struggling. But I have no idea really beyond some claims that I have heard (and that i also have very little idea about the accuracy of... e.g. that the 7 figure code sold $1 million USD in its first week) Simon
The major money maker like to keep a low profile, but take DP for example. The owner makes a lot from the forum. You just need traffic and content.
I imagine that most of the big players would keep quiet (unless perhaps they are in a business where it benefits them to display their success/revenue)... But some of them must be well known as in any other industry?? From what i know of adsense (which is not much really) you need a totally absoute cr*pload of traffic to make any real money from it (i dont mean just a few hundred a week to get by on) - is that true?
Hi Owl - nice post! Known names in the industry are Mike Filsaime, Russell Brunson, Frank Kern, Jeff Dedrick, Jason Dinner, Mike Steup, Liz Tomey, Janick Silver, Yaro Starak, Ewen Chia etc etc... I would recommend to register for free at dotcomsecrets.com where you will get to see 2 hours video from a seminar that was held by Russell Brunson on how he got started in Internet Marketing.
I would not look to what is already hot! Why enter a "cornered" market? I instead would look at businesses online that are doing moderately well but have yet to really take-off... Then, you can refine their model and make it better. If you want a real overnight success, check out www.Swoopo.com - their model is basically a money machine. Though I think it is gambling personally.
Now i make around $300+/day online. But i only can do it 5 day a week coz there 5 trading day only each week. I'm forex scalper. But i don't have any luck with adsesen coz i hardly earn $10/month from my personal blog.
Not to sound negative, but people who are making REAL money aren't saying a word to anyone. Just know that they're out there
thanks for your replies, I'll check out all those links. ive noticed that a lot of the big names are in the business of teaching others how to make money online. presumably that's because they (out of the ppl making real money) obviously want people to know they are making real money..... and the others are keeping their mouths shut but are out there. what would be a good way to learn more about these unpublicised ones?? thats a good point about looking for what is about to really take off.... though i imagine most of those "about to really take off" kind of ventures never really take off at all. i was thinking that it seems like a good idea to study what is actually definitely for real and then from having some knowledge of that, over time, i will learn how to discern what is likely to work in the future and what will not a friend of my brothers is right into forex atm. what kind of timeframe does it take to get good at it?
that swoopo is classic. is there any way you can see the original auction start price (so you can work out how much money they have made on a product)?
do even the penny auctions start at $1?? there are nikon d90s on there for $70 and $80, at once cent per bid, thats 7000 x $0.75 = $5250 for a $1300 camera. that really is a money making machine! what about this one? final price $264.92 http://http://www.swoopo.com/auction/nikon-d90-12-3-mp-dslr-camera-with-18-10/134070.html does that mean they made $19700 minus however much they paid for the camera??
As I said... A money machine. Since they give away some bids and sell bid packs -- which you can bid on (of course), they end up making around $0.35 per bid, not $1 per bid. So estimate around $0.35 per bid profit. So, on the examply you give they probably made $7300 minus the camera's cost.
But again -- it really is a gambling scheme. Look at this http://www.swoopo.com/auction/-1-000-cash-/147927.html (cash!)
Others who seem to be doing really well are Steve Pavlina.com, ProBlogger, Shoemoney. I spent too much time looking around in the MMO (make money online) space. That is the toughest arena to make money on the entire internet. Instead head over to SBI they have systems and plans for learning and running real businesses on the net. Good luck and lots of success to everyone here. Wayne
