You're for it, but against it. Were you for it before you were against it? The patriot act is working quite well, much to the dismay of some. I'm quite comfortable with it working to capture individual and cells of terrorists, to cut their funding off, to monitor their activities and to prevent attacks on our country. And if along the way, it allows the capture of a drug trafficing network, you won't see me boo hooing on a forum about it. Perhaps those things are upsetting to you? No one seems to whine and cry about safety when they have it. How many terrorist attacks have we had since 9/11? How many did we persistently endure during the 90s? Gee, I wonder what's working

I care very much about the constitution. Making an issue with 'could be' and 'might could happen' doesn't make an issue. I'd say you have a far greater chance of being abducted by aliens than some super-secret black helicopter travelling secret agents looking for tinfoil airwaves to randomly pick up harmless people out of their homes. My opinion here, but I believe they have far better things to do. Unless you were planning a terrorist act, which I would highly doubt. It's like arguing you might could get a flat tire, therefore you shouldn't drive.

We've been over that, haven't we? Taking both sides of every issue, but arguing exclusively on the left side (and that's fine, if that's where you want to be). But when the heat is on, refer back to the other side of the issue. It creates a comfort zone, doesn't it? I had no idea pointing it out was so upsetting.

Don't let it ruin your day. :)

Yeah I actually own most of them. :D After that post I had to listen to a handful of them. For some strange reason I've seen most of his movies and Snoop's which are all horrible.

I've listened to rap for a long time. Your first post actually made me laugh and I thought if he doesn't post anything too bad in the next couple of days I'll have to give him some green. lol

Why'd you figure I'd be the last to get that reference?

Not sure.. just did from what I've seen you post lately..

As for rap.. it makes up the majority of what I listen to, especially Pre 1996. The old master P, all the old 2pac, Bone Thugs, Tech N9ne, Scarface... so many greats in the past. :D

Even though it's not directly effecting it yet.. don't you think the continual loss of freedoms is going to eventually limit free speech enough that these guys songs won't be available anymore... is it really that far fetched?

Yeah I saw Bone and Scarface together in concert. The thing with Bone is that they were never all together to do a concert it seemed like.

I’d say rap has gone from 90% of my listening to probably around 20% now.

Of course being in Texas there’s a lot of Screw and Latin influenced rap like South Park Mexican, etc, but of course I grew up with Bone and 2Pac and of course I had to throw on some Jodeci for the removal of panties.

I really don’t think so. If you look to entertainment and the restrictions on it. Even more is being allowed now. Just look at TV now. On regular network TV there are curse words all the time on late night programming. You didn’t have that kind of thing 5 years ago. I think restrictions on different forms of entertainment have been decreasing if anything. As far as the loss of freedoms I really don’t see it. Rappers, actors, and other celebrities are pushing for more awareness in groups that typically would never care about politics.

when I think about it.. Bush wants dictatorship rather than democracy.. changing the constitution is a step in the right way but he must have a good reason to do that. He may have ordered an attack from his saudi friend.. I mean he didn't look surpriced when he heard of the news.. who knows?

Umm so yet again it's either hardline or noline? Lets just brush aside constitutional issues, sounds like a good idea to me. I am for any power that can get terrorists as long as it does not effect the constitution, I honestly don't see how you can have a problem or not understand that, it's trully very amazing.

I would give the government MORE POWER against terrorists while striking any non terror related clause within the patriot act that even hints of eroding the constitution unless it specifically states it can only be used for non us citizens/terrorists. You say you're for the patriot act to get terrorists, then why not be for giving the government more power against actual terrorists and protect rights of the US citizen? You appear to have no argument on the case simply 'we've caught a few terrorists yeah'.

How many terrorist attacks did we have on US soil in the 90's might I ask?

Nope actually it creates a comfort zone for you, something you think you can try to attack on when you don't have an argument. I'm on the left of every issue realy now?

So yet again it's either be a drone of the left or the right, or it's taking 'both sides' there is never a reason you could be for something but wish it were revamped? What insane logic is this might I ask?

Being more of a moderate, in the middle by any logic I of course am going to agree to an extent with both sides would I not?
